The more experienced team qualified, but Monaco gave a great fight over the two legs ! Both teams were deserving to play CL. World class goal from Negredo and for Monaco my tops and flops on the two legs are exactly the same : Raggi and Martial as tops, Cabaleiro and Fabinho flopping again.

I don't think Mosa was questioning that, BlazeDragon943. You guys are both spot on in the fact that Spanish sides are the ones to beat in Europe until further notice

Really? I thought Raggi was terrible in the first leg, Valencia always looked dangerous when facing him and from an attacking point of view, he did absolutely nothing. He's a solid CB, but as a RB he's pretty useless. Anyways, Monaco deserved to go through, they looked better over the course of 180 minutes in my opinion, and the fact that they did it with a team full of kids and without three of their best, if not the best, players Moutinho, Abdennour and Kurzawa (in the first leg) is even more impressive. Speaking of Abdennour, why doesn't he feature for Monaco? Is he injured or is he really trying to push for a transfer?

Monaco were shaky in defense the reason why they got eleminated, many efensive mistakes vs a good team costed them the qualification. For Abdennour, he is pushing for a transfer, he refused to play CL to be eligible with his future team.

Well, so were Valencia, too. They looked so open without Otamendi, Vezo doesn't look anywhere close to Otamendi's level from what I've seen. Plenty of chances on both sides, but I'm sad that Monaco didn't go through, because they have such a talented squad. Do you happen to know if any club is close to signing him? Would be a good transfer for any club..

Luis Enrique wanted to sign him, and the player was keen on moving to Barça. But the direction told him that the transfer window of Barça was over, because they want to end the season very positive financially and start signing in January after the ban ends. Abdennour is lately linked with Juve and Milan teams, but Monaco didnt received yet the offer that makes them let the player go.Dont underestimate Valencia, they may have lost Otamendi, but they were only shaky in set pieces wich could be solved by practicing, they look solid overall.

I don't understand why Chelsea isn't going after him, especially with all the drama around J. Stones. Oh, I don't underestimate them, but they were close to getting eliminated against a team consisting of a bunch of kids and 3 experienced players. However, it's still only the beginning of the season, so I don't want to overexaggerate the impressions that I've got from their games. Still hope that they do well in La Liga und UCL.

Lets not forget that Monaco had more than 4 official games in their pocket, Valencia played the first leg before La liga even starts so they have much less stamina on their side. Doesnt change the fact that they conceded, but Monaco isnt a useless team neither. Their strenght imo remains in their coach so players go and leave, when El sharawi is benched then those youngsters are not nobodies. Watch out for Martial, already has a CL level at such a young age. #future.

I agree with you. Monaco is really an exciting project, I love the fact that Jardim plays so many youngsters, some of them really have the potential to be world-beaters. May I ask whom you rate the most out of all of them? For me, it has to be Martial, like you said, Bernardo Silva, Layvin Kurzawa and Mario Pasalic, our loanee. I know that we farmed out a lot of youngsters, but he's probably the one that I'm most excited about. He's got all the assets to develop into a fantastic player, whether it's defending, attacking or tactical understanding. He's also got fantastic finishing and more importantly, a manager at Monaco who relies on young players like him. Really looking forward to the PSG - Monaco on Sunday. I wonder if PSG can wrap up the deal for Kurzawa before the game.
