actually, if you look closely, barnes was passing the ball when matic ran into the path of his leg.. it's not really a tackle as some said but yeaa it should be at least a yellow if not a red. That said, the reaction will definitely force the ref to give matic a red card :( on a side note, the handball is fairly obvious

KJ i was only referring to the Matic incident and the handball incident, I didn't make any reference to any other incidents in my comments. I was merely suggesting that perhaps its not a tackle but a pass if you look at the replay closely and Matic happens to stretch his leg into the path. Of course, I did not say his reaction is not understandable, nor did I deny any other points you said. I was just stating my point of view regarding that specific highlight (incident). Seriously, chelsea fans sure loves to divert attention to other incident don't they? Just like their manager.

Both players are to blame. However matic was an idiot to react like that. Barnes would have probably been given a red if it wasn't for matic to steal the show. Too many chelsea fans on here down voting anything they don't want to agree with.

Indeed. The intention or pass from Barnes was still biased, but it is very dangerous for Matic's career. Barnes should be sent off, but if Matic didn't react too much maybe he's not the one to leave the pitch

Mourinho does have a point ranting on goals on sunday. his complaints were completely logical. Barnes should have been sent off in the first half kicking ivanovic midair. Next, we deserved a penalty. ivanovic's shot went into kightly's arm and to be quite frank, the ref should have seen that 3 metres away. After that incident, costa was pushed down by shackell and yet againm no penalty. Next, matic was right to be furious about that tackle. He might have overreacted but barnes nearly ended his career. Ive read the comments above and dear butthurt people, stop complaining. We clearly deserved all three points and burnley were lucky

Costa has been stamping on people the whole season. Whilst Barnes accidentally trod on matics leg when trying to get the ball. The difference with Barnes and Costa is that Barnes did it accidentally which Costa does it on purpose.

Some people's brains don't process pain when they lose their temper. Some soldiers take a bullet in the leg but they still stand up to fight, they have hard bodies and they train everyday. Football players train everyday too, their bodies are different from people who stay on their computer long enough until their brains stop processing any good thoughts and come up with dumb crap like this.

How can it be a red card fr Barnes? He was kicking the ball and Matic interceded? His intention was not to make a tackle but to pass, he did have posession of the ball...it was Matic own fault he got fouled in the first place

He tried to pass the ball but then pushed his leg through, dangerous play which could inflict a serious injury on your opponent. Matic shouldn't have reacted the way he did, so his red card seems logical but if the referee does his job, he would have given a foul and a red card for Barnes.

if the ivanovic penalty cry was given, then felipe luis' handball in the box would have been given as well; at least he was consistent. If Costa had not gone to ground so easily, a penalty may have been given if he attempted to shoot or something.
