I agree NOT a deserved win the ref was horrible, A good sport for Porto is swimming instead of football, diving too much.

Should be easy if Bayern gets all their players back from injury. Scoring 2 cheap goals against an injured team does not make Porto world class all of a sudden.

Pep's 2nd leg speech...."today we face the biggest challenge of our lives. we must control the ball. eliminate the mistakes at the back. keep the ball at all costs. feed the wingers. move it up quickly. control the ball. possession. attack. defend. possession." Lopetegui's speech...."we are in hell right now. do you come as a gladiator or a shepherd? show me your balls...good!....now go out there and kill the beast!"....to the sound of the gladiator movie...

Porto will be facing some of what Bayern faced in the 1st leg. They will be without 2 of their key defenders Sandro and Danilo. I'd rather be missing a midfielder or striker instead of a key defender. In anycase, Porto will fight for 90 minutes make no mistake. There will be goals galore for sure but they will prevail i can feel it. Quaresma and Martinez already showed Bayern what they can do and i'm sure the Bayern defence will be jittery again. It's all psycological now.

Guys referee made a brave and correct decision by giving neuer a yellow. The defense player was between the goal and neuer while the faul was committed.

I know Bayern are missing two excellent players, but they were dreadful yesterday. To call their defending amateurish insults all worthy non-professional players. Some of the Germans players might have recognized this sort of defense (see also David Luiz against Barca). Furthermore, I think Neuer should have seen red, and Alonso yellow. With ten men and no Neuer (next week as well) Bayern would be pretty much eliminated. 3-1 can be made up at home though with a more typical performance and professional defending. Porto, on the other hand, proved to be one of the best clubs in the world; they were unlucky not to have scored more.

Bayern's defending may have been pretty awful, but some of the umpiring was frankly atrocious, how was Lewandowski being pulled to the ground not a penalty???

Not a fan of any of these, but how was that not a foul on Alonso ?? English refereeing type witnessed in this match. Obvious beyond daylight. I guess everyone here chooses to ignore out of shadenfreude.

Tactically Pep was horribly wrong and his defenders added more misery to it. Yet after two goals from Porto he didn't change the formation which is a surprise. Badstuber should have well before.Return leg would be tough for Bayern and despite having classy players in their ranks they are on a verge of knocking out of CL.I have feeling, this year could be a year when non-favourites could steal the crown from the favorites in the likes of Juve, AM, Porto.

This is what I was talking about. Porto is playing one of most beautiful football in Europe, along with Barcelona, Arsenal and many more teams. Great tactics, great fightning spirit and fantastic skills! Also Neuer should have been sent off. Quaresma's perfomance brings back memories.

Arsenal played ugly football. Dont tarnish team like barca and porto by comparing these to lousy arsenal

I see you're plastic fan of United. Wengerball and many other tactics are done wonderfully in Arsenal. This is why we are 2nd.

bergkamp 9 years ago
we are not 2nd nt because we play wengerball or any of them beautiful football. we're 2nd because man city imploded. we earned lots of points from not so beautiful football esp in the first half of the season.

@bergkamp True point but without Wenger's tactics we wouldn't be second now. Wenger's tactics changed and now we are much better ranked.

You don't get point. He said that we didn't play so much beautiful football in first half, not we play 'ugly' football. He didn't said that we played ugly. And I didn't get owned. LOL.

Porto deserved to win. Neuer should have been sent off. Great Performance and outstanding Pressing by Porto. We dominate weaker Teams and win with 5+ goals. But struggle with high quality opponents who refuse to sit and wait in their own box, shitting their pants for 90 minutes. I miss Heynckes Bayern. Heynckes Bayern was more dynamic and dangerous. Peps Bayern is great but I dont like it as much. We had not lost against Madrid at home for something like a decade (then 0:4??). We reached 3 finals in 4 years. Now we get kicked out by an Underdog in the quarters.

I agree with you with regard to Heynckes. Loved the fast pace at which his Bayern played. For some reason Pep has this aura or star status about him. But, he has made Bayern less dynamic. To me, he doesn't get the best out of Muller, Gotze or Lewandoski. He was fortunate Neuer wasn't given red. And, he should have made defensive changes earlier yesterday. Alonso was a train wreck, whereas Badstuber is a very capable defender. Still, they could come back, especially with an away goal to their credit. Might also get Ribery for the return leg.

Hopefully Ribery will Return. Without Robbery we are harmless and no threat at all.
