milan lots of work to do, not a simple ride for sinisa.now i am really interested to see how this manager can mould this team together. and i just think milan has bought a lot of overpriced players, a transfer season i would rate as overblown overpaying for overrated players.

Difficult to have a simple answer, as a good team isn't build over night. Look at Manchester United. spent upwards of £250 million, and are arguably the most boring team in England. What you see now is the result of 4 years of downsizing. It might take another four years to get anywhere near an acceptable level.

@milanlamiavita Come on now, let's not compare our situation with Milan's situation. We had the same coach for 27 years, when he announced that he's leaving, if you're a realist, you would know that Manchester United will have to start rebuilding. It took two seasons, TWO SEASONS to climb back to top 4 and even if United are the most boring in league at the moment, we are still getting results, somehow. But lets not go down that road of comparing two clubs.

@milanlamiavita .......AC Milan got the financial resources, AC Milan is one of the biggest football clubs in the world and I'm sure they can buy very good players, but buying is one thing. What about the youth academy? Who did Milan produce in the past four years ? Where did it all go wrong ? I'm not trying to be harsh, just want to understand.

@Gennady, mate the blame it's all on management = Galliani aka bald-head, better known as Cravattagialla. we(he) spent 100mil in this current transfermarket, one hundred millions, and we have a midfield which makes me cry in aramaic. De Sciglio, Donnarumma and Calabria are the first young prospects coming in the 1st squad. Vido, Modic and Mastour should be next. another excellent Milan youth product plays there at MU, Matteo Darmian. i mean the numbers of prospects we're pulling out are ok, is not that we have to pull out 20 players per season, problem is integrating these youngsters into a core composed by older, charismatic players , people they can look at and take example. well, that core is gone and it's not being replaced with proper players.

i mean we've got this valley-of-tears kind of mid, and what does Galliani do? Takes Balotelli back on loan from Liverpool. see what i mean? yep Balo is coming back...

it wasn't for the sake of comparing! My point is that when you're rebuilding, even trigger happy spending doesn't produce results, especially when you've spent the last 4 seasons downsizing, not agreeing on the right way forward, not having the funds available to buy potential protagonists and chopping and changing coaches. If Milan spent 250 million pounds of sky money, our litmus is champions league victories, and not the top 4. after all, Milan won equal the number of champions leagues in 4 years as Manchester united did during ferguson's entire tenure. De Sciglio and Abate are protagonists if surrounded by a good team, Donnarumma will I fully believe will be Milan number 1 in 12 months. Calabria is showing as much if not more promise than Darmian, who made Torino 20 million.

@shpalman! Darmian not coming back to the club and ending up where he is now is the absolute crystal clear example of the shambles that has been our strategy over the past 5 years. Local boy who somehow never got given the opportunity, whilst we spent money on people like didac vila, constant, Emanuelson etc etc etc.

@milanlamiavita, you know? i was watching the match again, you can find it on Reddit, till we were 11v11 we weren't *that* bad, except a couple of mistakes. we do indeed need a mid able to hold and create, but the attitude we showed was good. especially in the first 20 minutes. and then, we played in Firenze, it's the 1st match of the season... except the fact i friggin hate i fiorentini, it isn't all bad.

it's as if last season didn't finish. This was the 2014-15 Milan vintage performance? you ask yourself, what exactly did Sinisa do with them all summer?? The chasm that is the massive gap that keeps opening up between the midfield and defence is still there!!! Bonaventura, Honda, De Jong and Bertoschifo all want to attack!!! Suddenly, one ball and the defence is left flat footed defending a dangerous counter, whilst de jong and his pals casually jog back! I don't blame Ely in any way. his midfield A. cannot hold possession to save their lives and B. still cannot narrow the gap between midfield and defence, in order to eradicate dangerous counters. I feel sorry for Bacca and Adriano, because behind them existed 4 atrocious midfielders who created next to nothing for 95 minutes. Scherzi

nobody's complaining about that red card except Milan fans, and Milan wheren't never really in the game.. But its first match day, anything can happen! But Milan has so much to work with, and you need a creative midfielder, where is Montolivo? still injury prone?

still on the bench, and i hope he stays there. i think the ref could have avoided the 2nd yellow, i've seen worse and no second yellows given. but yes, at the end of the day there's a lot to work to do, and luckily the market is still open. Juve lost, Napoli lost, Roma drew, Inter, Lazio and Fiorentina won; it's going to be interesting.

referee was a jerk?? why? It was a stonewall red card for a completely out of his depth Ely. He was caught out completely the first time, but Lopez denied Kalinic. the first yellow could have easily been a red, despite romagnoli covering and the second was also a professional foul. There is absolutely no complaints.
