Hey Lod I hear barca are looking for Eriksen because no Coutinho haha

Whatever Liverpool rejected for Coutinho, I have a feeling Levy would reject double that for any of our starting attack. Well, I take that back. I'm sure we'd sell Son.

Reposted just coz the page got turned so fast:

Tottenham Hotspur have agreed terms with Ajax's Player of the Year from last season, 21-year old Davinson Sanchez on a 6-year deal for £29m (going up to £40m in add-ons).

Sky Sports says so, at least.

Pending a medical. I'm watching you, Willian.

Sanchez is a world class talent, this is a signing for the future, already he can start playing in cups and learn from others, the money spent on him is not a problem since it's not that easy to find a promising centre back these days.

Messi just liked Manchester City and started following them on social networks, well I guess Spanish federation will be happy now. They highly participated to weakening Barca now when they saw Neymar leaving and understood that economically they will suffer if it turns into a one horse league. Now they refused to reduce Ronaldo ban at Perez surprise. If Messi leaves whole league will suffer not only Barca. It's more than money. And actually if you ask me Barca directiva deserves this sinking and Liga excecutives are panicked now I suspect them to be very rude toward Madrid in the near future at the opposite of last years, but maybe it's too late.
We are in a period when a 300mil buyout clause can be matched for a 30 yo player. FIFA and UEFA corrupted bustards let things go crazy, with Qatar hosting an impossible WC who will take place in January we have the proof that Football turned into a billionaire game.

Messi is not to blame in the story if it happens, but the direction will be hanged inside Camp Nou. Things are getting out of control right now.

That's the reason why Dortmund and Liverpool are being in favorable position in current negotiations even if their players are pushing for a move, they know that if they take time in negotiations, Barca will start to internally explode and then higher the price ultimately. They have every right to do this since our stupid president put himself in that trap singlehandedly.

Messi will never leave Barcelona, it's his home and his safe spot.
Statistically he is the best player in the league's history, he never cared about new challenges and he's 30 years old, the whole story about him following a club on twitter is nothing special players do those things all the time...

Bartomeu lied to members of Barcelona, Messi has not signed his renewal. Certainly something happening at Barcelona, even Iniesta has said:

I haven't renewed yet... I'm thinking about my future now for the first time

At least if he goes to PL and destroy it which will happen 300%, he will silence the few remaining doubters or haters, if they give him a 200mil bonus + 50 mil salary per year and a ballon d' Or on plate because City will lift CL then, i don't know what will retain him to play with Paulinho, Deulofeu, Lucas Digne and co... i wont even blame him for that and City can afford any price tag since he will be " Qatar World Cup ambassador " like Neymar and escape financial fair play.
Staying at Barca is looking to an aging Ronaldo win BO after BO while Messi is clearly the best performer past seasons. Doesn't sound very fair to end the career that way. If I was him I would leave reason why I wont blame him.

Agree with Golazo, and the something happening is that Barcelona's board is completely clueless lol. But I don't think Messi will leave, I feel he's not renewing to put pressure on their board of directors to make a good signing before the transfer window closes

@tiki

Nothing of that sort will happen. You love to speculate and as much as I remember you , your speculations very often come out wrong.

I am 300% sure!

I'm just speculating yes because The ball is in Messi's feet, I can't take the decision for him that's obvious, but once the buyout clause would be matched, only player will have to decide then...
I would be curious to see which time I got it all wrong Marcus ? I love to speculate and it's never easy to predict people's choices but in those circumstances I would be surprised if he stays.

My predictions years before :

  • Lacazette to be a star fist few game support he played in U19 thread about it.
  • unpopular opinions turned popular while arguing with lodatz and some PL fans :
Griezmann > Sterling it's not even a debate right now, before he even signed at Atletico.
  • ÉPL teams downfall in CL, got treated as a troll.
  • Sanchez destroying PL his first season.
  • Depay to flop, before he flopped...
  • Saul Niguez rise.
  • Tottenham flopping in CL last year.

Lately Madrid B is stronger than the A, with Ascensio future BO, unpopular in February, next season people will find that obvious.

Got some wrong tho:
Modric becoming actual Modric.
Tottenham implementing themselves in the big four : big surprise.
PeP poor season at City.
Chelsea surprising nightmare season due to dressing room explosion under Mou.

We are off topic but I think I got more spot on speculation than wrongs, that's a game you can't always win in that.

I think Messi destroying PL is a safe one 600% :) i put my money on it if the transfer happen. :)

I'd take that bet. Just the way reffing alone is handled punishes the dribbler archtype in the EPL. Even when Ronaldo played in the EPL in the best United team I've ever seen he was significantly below the standard he set at Madrid.

Ronaldo and Suarez scored 31 times in a season, which is the most by a player since the 38-game season was introduced. No top La Liga scorer has scored less than 31 since Guiza in 07/08. Wasn't just Ronaldo an Messi either, Forlan and Suarez also contributed to those totals.

The dominance of the Real/Barca teams in relation to the rest of the league, combined with the reffing that allows fouls for every little thing, makes it improbable (although not impossible) that any single player could hit the 40-50 numbers that Messi and Ronaldo did in La Liga. The is certainly no previous precedent for it.

How the hell did Nasri join Antalyaspor? Damn, we couldn't even loan him last year lol. So Nasri, Menez, Maicon and Eto'o in front. Turkish League is getting better and better. It will be the best season in the history of Turkish football.

@Emrecan Wow, didn't expect that. :O

  • Kalinic to AC Milan is done deal, decent move even if I would have liked them better if they had signed, Belotti, Costa or Aubameyang.

@sun look at his stats vs Top PL teams in high pressure games, bottom teams would be even easier.

enter image description here

You forgot that both Ronaldo and Suarez saw their average dribbling per league season has been reduced by 3 Same for Bale i think I didn't checked but I'm sure it's the same. Physical attributes doesn't help you against an organized zonal approach deep defense. If you aren't technically gifted, you can't dribble in Spain as you used to in England.
Both leagues are different doesn't mean one is easier than the other, direct football means a lot of Space for Messi, if he comes there the league style will change, no team would be able to play British and leave space at the back.
He will get fouled and hit, but he would still destroy the league like no player did before, more than Suarez or Aguero. Messi is levels above these players...

Messi is 30, he can't even play in the Premier league anymore, he's not capable of doing half of the things Ronaldo did before he moved to Real Madrid let alone destroy the whole league, if anything Messi would be carried by a very stacked Man City team and he would probably get 6-9 goals like Pedro, his best years have passed...
I can name Sanchez, thats 1 winger that could score 20 goals, part from him nobody can do it now.

Mark my words, Messi isn't going anywhere his time of new challenges has passed, players in his age don't move to the Premier League and he is the best La Liga player of all time so there is no way that he will leave and retire in Man City, he enjoyed playing with the best spanish generation of all time that won the World Cup so easy, now it's time for him to see how Barcelona is going to rebuild a new team.

Messi just had his second/best season individally last season.

Sure he did have a nice season scoring alot and winning almost nothing, but untill I see him actually sign a deal there is nobody here that can convince me that he will leave Barcelona, I just don't see it and yes he isn't getting any better he is 30 years old now there is nothing for him outside of Barcelona he has to stay and retire there, he had won everything with Barcelona years back and didn't want to leave, now he would like to leave? I don't see it happening...
Best La Liga player of all time going to Man City at 30 because, Barcelona looks weak 1 season?
Even knowing that Messi wanted to stop playing for Argentina after losing the Copa America it's just not realistic for me that he would just leave Barcelona like that after Neymar left.
