Look at how Ronaldo walk back after his free-kick hits the post, while everyone else in his team just keep chasing the ball. He walks in the direction of his own pitch, and is not interested at all in what is still happening after his shot! OMG. Everyone gets disappointed when his shot doesn't get in, but no one expresses himself in such way! I know he's not lazy... he's just selfish and not a team player, ever.

For those complaining about Ronaldo's attitude, it is friendly match, it is okay If u don't want to run chasing the ball, he avoid any injuries here, because he wants to play with Portugal in WC. Stupid people commenting about friendly match! just see the real match later.

i never liked coentrao, but that run was impressive. and look Mr. Young, look at Varela, that's how you send a ball in, not blindly kick a ball!

Im tired every single time portugal or real play and ronaldo does not score people start hating on him. its his personality, and its his attitude thats made him the player he is today, shut the f*** up he can do whatever he wants, he is human, 1 player out of 11, he is no god, i admit that the level he is playing at right now is way too high and when rarely he does a bad game everyone throws shit at him stop it. I understand as the best player in the world there is always pressure to perform on every single game but cmon he is human and he just came back from injury give him some peace jeez.

I've not made a comment here regarding CR7, but I have to point out, you sound like you are crying.

When Ronaldo stops being self centered he will reach greater heights. The physique is there, but football isn't just about an individual. It's how you affect your team mate as well. There was a Maradona and Pele because they both had a great partnership with their teams and understood what it meant to be a team, not selfish or arrogant.

LOL...MAN utd, Dortmund..that says it all.... criticizing a player becoz he wants to be the best....no wonder u guys are such sore losers lol lol

WYJ 10 years ago
@aritra729 Ok, CR7 is one of the best, in terms of performance; that's for sure. I just can't appreciate part of his mentality, ie. what I said above. So you're criticizing me only because I criticize CR7, which is laughable, because you didn't find anything to defend him.

Cristiano Ronaldo has won every single CLUB AND INDIVIDUAL award with TWO different teams. Tell me another player that has done it. There isn't. One of my the most complete players, unlike others he can score with both feet, score with his head, good fks, penalties, speed, strength, one on one, dribble, etc. Many may still deny that he is one of the greats, but I am not sure about their intellectual baggage.

That's crazy.. How on earth can you argue with this comment? WYJ is fuc*ing right! I told myself exactly the same. That's a ridiculous attitude from Ronaldo. It was a bit of the same in the CL final against Athletico Madrid when Ramos equalized. He didn't celebrate at all the goal with his partners. He seemed to be more worried about being the hero of the final instead of winning it in team, no matters which player will be in the headlines. He won't ever change that unforgivable attitude. Don't get me wrong, I'm/ I was a huge fan of him, but he really disappoints me in that sense.

Its a friendly man, calm down i admit he did look like that and he should not have done that but you have to remember he recently came back from injury and he should not chase every ball, my guess is he is just taking care of himself and not to overdo it.

You make some good points. It's true, he's a selfish player and doesn't play for the team. Just his own ego. Still one of the best players in the world.

Portugal are ranked 4 and i will not say they have outside chance to make it to finals, they have huge chances of playing in THE final.

Portugal to the final? you are retarded fo sure
2
MrFooty 10 years ago
You must be retarded for sure. Portugal is a classy side and if Ronaldo is on fire they have an outside chance. Not one of the favourites but definately one of the dark horses for sure and that suits us down to the ground.

Remember what Maradona did for Argentina in 86. One player inspired a whole team. Ronaldo is more than capable and Portugal is not a team that concedes too much. Our defence is solid. We have 3 very good goal keepers. Excellent midfield and wingers. And then we have Ronaldo. With the right chemistry and temperament we can do it. Why not? Greece was half the team we were with our golden generation and look what they did.

While I think Portugal are an outside chance, I really can't see them making the final. This is mainly due to a defence which is sloppy against stronger sides and a midfield that doesn't really compare to countries such as Spain, Germany and Brazil. I think Ronaldo would have to play better than ever before, Moutinho would have to be on form if they hoped to even make the semis. That said, They have a fairly strong attack + Ronaldo, a decent midfield but their defence will crumble against the three teams I mentioned earlier. You might stand a chance against Germany if they play badly, but if not you would have to put in a never before seen performance.

You have a point, they play football that is nice and fun to watch but this is the world cup. It is not a friendly, show me one world cup where the friendlies actually signaled the result. None. Sorry to break it up to you but I believe Belgium has a better chance than Portugal at this stage.

We have a solid defence. How many goals did we conceded in the last World Cup? In general we don't concede many goals and in the World Cup/Euro we raise our game. With Pepe and Bruno Alves 2 beats I wanna see how many goals we will concede. Unless we lose our temperament the whole team will collapse otherwise we have a good outside chance.

Well, I can't blame you for having hope. Also, in regards to you only conceding one goal in your 2010 world cup campaign, the only team you scored against was North Korea. (0-0 against Ivory coast, 7-0 against North Korea, 0-0 with Brazil and 0-1 to Spain to send you home). This would suggest that, against stronger teams, you basically rely on parking the bus. Also, all that was 4 years ago. Keep hoping though, you never know.

My first eleven I will put on the field for the Germany game: Rui Patricio, Joao Pereira, Pepe, Ricardo Costa, Coentrao, Carvalho, Meireles, Moutinho, Nani, Ronaldo, Eder/Hugo Almeida!I just hope Helder Postiga doesn't play, he's one of the worst strikers ever, he just loses all the fucking balls, it's fucking pathetic. Nani looks revived and plays with his heart and Moutinho is a fucking master, his vision and passing ability are insane, top class player. What can you say more about Ronaldo, he's not fully fit and he is much faster than all the players on the field and he dictates the game. I hope Portugal will do good and reach semi-finals and with bit of luck maybe the final. FORCA PORTUGAL!
