Everyone know Portugal is a top side even without Ronaldo, but just wondering why he didnt play because it's unusual for Ronaldo not to play a big game like vs Italy.

it was not just a friendly, we actually lost top seed for the WC 2018 with this loss. of course Conte had to try the 4-3-3 system for the 1st time in such quite important match...

The Italian team is already commonplace lose or just get a draw during a friendly match, but this team has its own magical powers if the event has actually started. That's because the coach did not want to look for the results, but he wanted to see the process of tactics and strategies that he has. For that there are names like Matri, Gabbiadini etc #ForzaItaly

That build up to the goal was just amazing. Eliseu run and nutmeg classic! Quaresma's cross oh my goodness and finally Eder knows where the goal is and boy did he bang it in. Top Class!

Conte's Italy is just unwatchable. Unbearably horrendous. Some of the selections are a disgrace to the shirt. Ranocchia and Bonucci....the amount of careless passes they played could have had italy lose by 4 or 5 goals if we were playing vs decent opposition. Matri? De sciglio? Gabbiadini? El Shaarawy...the list goes on. How are any of these worthy of being called up for the national team? I said people will regret how prandelli was treated and discarded. at least with him, we tried to play football. And this whole Pirlo infatuation is so past its sell by date, it has become ridiculous. He just walks his way through games doing absolutely nothing either defensively or offensively. for goodness sake, we just lost to a team we hadn't lost to for over 30 years. unbearably horrible tactics

Unwatchable as Conte's Juve? That was pretty bad... didn't watch the game but we all know the effort Italy puts in friendlies. What did Gabbiadini do wrong?? he's one of the best players we have

It's not like we have Maldinis Messis Roberto Baggios Del Pieros Camoranessis and young Buffons anymore. Calm your tits this was a friendly and for Pirlo he just finished his season give him a break allready he needs to have vacation instead of playing useless friendlys. Just watch how Italy will rise with what they have. you think most of those who were used are gonna be there when Europe Cup gonna start?

Players are tired at this point in the season, its understandable. I still do not understand how Florenzi, Sturaro, Rugani, and Insigne were not called up. But it is only a friendly and we should have won against Croatia being that we were the better team. De Sciglio is still young, Gabbiadini is promising.

You're being a little dramatic. El Shaarawy and De Sciglio are very worthy of the Italian shirt in a friendly at least. Gabbiadini is worthy of the Italian shirt at any given time... did you see the season he had? He was amazing for Napoli/Samp this whole season. Also, the 4-3-3 will finally allow Italy to play attacking football, which they are more than capable of doing. Also, Conte is calling up some players who you define as "unworthy" because he wants to give them a chance to prove themselves. It's still early, and Conte is not a bad coach, just relax a little. lol.

i agree with john, but we still lost top seed for WC 2018 because of this match. not cool at all. or maybe yes? it could be good because we usually perform better vs strong NTs, maybe it will help to keep the focus in the WC group stage.

Yeah thats my thinking as well, maybe we can step up to bigger national teams. the seedin gin the 2014 world cup killed us.... But more than anything I think our style of play will have to change. Im not sure if we have the quality to play a 4-3-3. we have keepers, defenders, and attackers but Im no longer sure about our midfield. As long as Conte can start to get the youth some playing time here and there than hes done his job. ((Rugani, Murru, Romagnoli, Saponara, Verratti, Sturaro, Insigne, Berardi, Gabbiadini, and many more))
