I dont understand how Barcelona was lucky. Valdes actually had a good game, awkward for me to say that. The defence was pretty good. Neymar is proving himself very well. Player of the game should go to Malaga goalkeeper Willy, he was awesome and denied Neymar's freekick!

If Barcelona are to go far in the Champions League, they may want to avoid the German clubs. Especially the fact that their defence is so dreadful!!!

FIRST OFF Adriano is just a golaso machine anyone whos been following barca knows this. these curling distance strikes are his bread and butter its just to easy for him when he get in that position on the left or the right it doesn't matter. NOW idk why in the world Martino is sooo hesitant to drop Alexis from the starting 11 SERIOUSLY he's been decent for Barca since he's gotten there but let be honest if Villa doesn't break his leg ALexis doesn't do shit and lets be honest here he def hasent reached his supposed true potential an he's had 2 yrs to do it Neymar should be starting from day#1 i dont believe in this easing him into the squad shit he knows whats expected he's not afraid of getting the (at least doesn't play like he does) blame and Martino NEEDS o drop Alexis NEXT GAME 4NEYMAR

Actually he needs to drop Pedro. Alexis can beat defenders and has immense work rate. Pedro is useless when teams park the bus, which is quite often.

Barcelona claimed a hard-fought victory. It was a wonderstrike from Adriano. Sergio Sanchez playing superman in defence

I know Real Madrid are hugely dependant on Ronaldo, but Barcelona depends even more on Messi. Today's match is a perfect example as only Barca won due to Willy Caballero's fumble. As a Madrid-fan, I enjoy the close battle for the title every season and that's why I don't hope for Messi to be out for long, as this would hand Madrid the title, instantly. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see Casillas lifting the trophy at the Cibeles at the end of the season, but there'd be no fun, if Barca are out of the race too quickly.

You certainly did not watch the game today. Because Barca played some great football. Cesc performed fantastically. Regarding your second point about whether Barcelona will display the same level of competition; you must realize Barca is more about the system, and less about the individual talent and coaching. Over the past 10 years they have been the most consistent team in La Liga. It is however, Real Madrid that we should focus on, in terms of maintaining the same level of competitiveness. Athletico seems to be on a better form then Madrid Right Now (Emphasis on the "right now"). Only time will prove how much of a competition Anceloti can pose against Barca.

Man I just hate what the hell is happening to Pedro, it's really not going well for him. I think he is picking up right where he left of from last season, just continuing to under perform. He is a great player I have no doubt about that but I am starting to doubt he is not fitting this style of play barca keeps insisting on playing. I think he is a player that really can bring the danger in more opened space in front of him, his play is more like playing on the shoulder of the defender and getting the ball in space for him to run at since he has so much pace to burn. All and all I think that if he doesn't improve fast, we will have another David Villa situation on our hand.

Maybe he's just not as good as he's been made out to be by the Spanish press? Maybe it's not that he's underperforming, but that a couple of years ago he OVERperformed, and gave a false impression of how good he is? Maybe some folks think that just because he plays for Barcelona, that means he is world class, even when he is not? Just thinking aloud...

LODATZ, what the eff is overperforming? Are you high? That's like saying someone did something they could never do. If you were at a certain level at one point, then you can get there again if your body is still in the condition for it. Not being able to get back to that level is underperforming.THEMINDSET, it's just that Pedro sucks against teams who park the bus. If he gets a couple of chances he usually puts it in, as his finishing is world class. He made a bad decision to try and round the keeper today. Shoulda just slotted it.

You want examples of overperforming? Luis Garcia, at Liverpool. in 2005. Milan Baros, for Czech Republic, in 2004. Robinho, for Brazil. It's basically when a player overacheives while they're the new guy on the block, or when the stars are aligned in their favor, and yet when the honeymoon/magical period leaves, we find out that they're not actually that good. They just had a great season (or two). LOL. Another example is Andy Carooll.

And by \'parking the bus\', I assume you mean: actually defend? Curiously, some people might consider it part of the striker\'s role to, y\'know, beat the defense, not whine about the fact that the defense is actually being taken seriously. If all a player can do is score against crappy defenses, then that player is not terribly good. Sorry. :)
