Btw. this tournament format is totally killing all drama. Teams defend even when they are loosing because the 3 points may be still enough to qualify...

Wake me up when knockout stage begins, this euro has been a waste of my time. Lost a lot of respect for European international football.

Saw just the highlights and I wanted to go, beat up each attacking player in this German team. I thought they will go out of this group with a bang cause everywhere the media is making fun of this German team as being the most boring and defensive, worst than the Argentina team of the World Cup. There are 21 shots at goal, and you can show the replay of each to SCREAM at the player taking the shot. Garbage shots by muller, gotze, ozil, and freekin Khedira. THE lowest performance by top players in a game. You can expect one to have such a bad performance but to see all having a horrible can be compared to a German car once it breaks down, its going straight to the junk yard.

And to think each player plays for the TOP RICHEST CLUBS IN EUROPE'S sounds like saying SANTA IS REAL lol.

Since when did the total number of goals scored start determining the quality of the match? How old are you? How much do you know about football? It seems to me that you're not a football fan but a glory-hunting, plastic kid.

okay kid I'm gonna show you some data.

Goals per Game in the group stage
2000 2.71
2004 2.67
2008 2.38
2012 2.50
2016 1.92

I didn't say the quality of tournament pathetic, I just said goalless tournament ever. How come you deduce too fast? Who's kid now?

All Euro16 potential contenders are on same side,
finals would be played before final

yep. It's Italy, Spain, Germany, France, England (<-- yeah that last one was a joke ;) in the same branch; 3 of those 5 teams will be out before the semi finals. In the other branch it's only Portugal that is usually considered a "bigger" team, but not even them really.

How much Michael McGovern seems to embody my stereotypical idea of how an Irishman looks is damn creepy. Also he's a good keeper.

Agreed, they got to be happy they won the World Cup, cause with this kind of performance they would be out after the group stages.

Starting to see a pattern: The new tournament structure has resulted in some rather boring group finals.

If the case was that Northern Ireland was going out in 3rd place, the game would have been better. Instead we have a team in the last 16 that doesn't look at all like they have a chance of going through.

If it happens that all of the 3rd places are eliminated in the last 16 playoffs, I hope UEFA will dump this structure.

btw, lowest goal average ever in FIFA world cup is 2,21 from 1990... just a comparison and reminder of what a "full of parked buses" tournament this euro is... 1,76 (second worst ever).

yeah it's because of all the small teams who "park the bus" while they have the chance of going through via 3rd place. But ALSO it's a Euro with, I think generally stronger teams on average, which also means less goals. So I think it's both aspects.

what is wrong with the Euro....this Germany side could of scored at least 4 goals 2 years ago now they can barley score 2 and they almost drew 1-1 against Northern Ireland smh. I predicted 4-0 for Germany but this is gonna stop. This euro is full of short goals I'm just gonna put a ratio of 1-0/2-0 and 2-1 next time.

how did they almost draw?? I think Northern Ireland had 1 shot on target, and it wasn't even dangerous, really.

People talking about "small" team parking the bus.. If it's your only chance to win a game or draw it then do it. Sure it's boring as fuck but they don't care if it's boring. The most important is the point. If you want to see a lot of goal then just go playing fifa. Football is about defending as well as attacking.

No it's when teams don't even bother to attack. When elimination starts, that just won't work, hence group stage is without any drama because max 3 points is usually enough(like some else here said). If this is what we are provided for in a European championship then all that play can be bundled off to the Euro qualifications. This format is made only suck more money from fans. And we get more of lower quality games.
