Great achievement by Portugal! It seems that the formation 4-4-2 with defensive strategy becomes the mainstream in football.

Frankly speaking this portugal team is not a championship team. But God miraclously got them up there. And on the day of the final HE took out their best player and won with the so called average players. I dont believe in LUCK but I believe in the GRACE of God.

INDEED GOD BLESSES THOSE WHO TAKE CARE OF THE POOR AND THE NEEDY. RONALDO GIVES A LOT TO THE POOR and look God has honored him to the shame of all who hate him.

france could win the wc 2018. really strong contender for the title. germany should do something about their forwards because scoring goals is part of the game. spain is still rebuilding. portugal will still be portugal at every major tournament. they will go to quarter finals but won't go much further. holland and italy can be a surprise package like this euro (shame they face germany waaaay too early) while england... well let's just pray god save them next wc.

"portugal will still be portugal at every major tournament. they will go to quarter finals but won't go much further." Semi-finals in WC 66, semi-finals in euro 84, semi finals in euro 00, final in euro 04, semi finals in WC 06, semi finals in euro 12. Check your knowledge before talking

@miguelquintas sorry, i mean portugal in recent years. their inconsistency will still be a problem. semis in 06 and then quarters in 08. then round of 16 in wc 2010. semis in euro 12 before going down at the wc 2014. sorry for not phrasing the words correctly but you get my point. still need some consistency, luck will not be always on their side.

ok. I get what you mean now and i'll give you that. But (and i know that i'm biased here) i really don't think that luck was such an important factor this year. This was probably the less "stellar" team we've had in the last 20 years and we built a strategy that would suit that. Paradoxically, we started depending less of Ronaldo and actually really played as a TEAM, something that Portugal has trouble doing consistently (there's the word again). We here have no memory of a national squad being so together and united, not caring the least bit about critics. And you know what? We were France in 04. I really liked it better this year.

You need to choose between bale, ramsey, payet, griezmann, and ronaldo...the last 3 name had advantage to play in final, even griezmann is the top scorer and ronaldo won the title. In semifinal Wales can do nothing without ramsey. it is fair to choose ramsey instead bale.

No offence, but Portugal did. They won this tournament.
No offence again, France didn't deserve to win this tournament because they didn't score in final and their opponent scored 1.
No offence again, go crying and then life must goes on.

Respect to CR7. Yes, he is a big show off sometimes. Yes, he acts like a kid sometimes. However, anyone can see that he is a good and emotional person. He was ready to fight to the last breath for his country. Even though I am not a fan of Portugal, RM, nor a big fan of CR, but still, he deserves respect. He is a hard working and talented man.

Of course all the champions must have a little bit of luck. Portugal had it, can't denied but we had also many merits.

I'm happy for CR7 but highly disappointed in the French "African Team" and very angry about the fact that Portugal as a team being so terrible throughout the tournament ended up winning the grand finale. Eder happens to be in my book of "Worst Players Ever" and it pissed me off to see the winning goal come from him... smh

Congrats to Portugal!!!......This is truly a very special moment for them, considering this being their first major title despite all the wonderful teams they have had in the past, since the days of Eusebio.
