You don't get these precious huge fair play oportunities often. I agree it would've taken huge balls for Guardado to miss on purpose, but then again it would have been a huge sportmanship gesture... which football needs as often as football can get.Then again, Panama seemed to be about to leave the field, which would have also taken huge balls to do... and at the end... they didn't... So the whole thing is really on the ref and whoever blocks the use of technology in these situations, not on the players. Nevertheless, horrible football all around, especially from the Mexican national team.

I'm a Ukraine Fan, but I feel really bad for panama, and even costa rica because they got screwed over by the refs. mexico and usa always get the calls. I really hope that Jamaica wins because I do not want mexico to win. Guardado should've missed that 1st penalty on purpose for fair play for Panama but of course he doesn't have the balls or class to do something like that.

I love Mexico and want them to win always, but not like this. Is been a shame this whole knockout stage how bad we've played and how the refs have helped us with two last minute inexistent penalties. and our coach celebrating when we got the penalty. really? what a disgrace . Guardado should've missed the penalty on purpose and lose with honor and dignity rather than win like we did. All the mexican people i know are thinking the same way i am so don't think we are proud with this win, because we are not.

Let's see, Vela elbows a Panama player in the 3rd minute, should've been a red but only gets a yellow. Next, a Panama player jumps up to fight to for the ball in the air with a Mexican ball in the air and hits him accidentally resulting a joke RED CARD and leaving Panama with 10 men in the 24th minute. Nevertheless, Panama managed to score a goal and successfully CONTAIN Mexico who were could not create a single chance. Then, the ref decides to call an INEXISTENT PK at the last minute, just like last match against Costa Rica. This was disgusting to watch honestly.
