Come on, live USA alone, change the rules just for them ok, (A) allow them to paly with their hands and they will still call it football (B) allow them to take a rest every 3 minutes. (c) allow their coach to through in a yellow flag in the filed and interrupt the game and ask for a reply. Finally allow their coach to yield at the referees and insulted them at will and interrupt the game again & the players have to be 300 lbs. and above (go ahead eat yourself to death) Then, they would be the greatest soccer team ever. Or my be they would just go to Holly Wood and make a movies and won. USA, USA, USA..

@ikfooty, way to sound like an absolute jackass. Soccer isn't very popular in America, yet anytime we enter a tournament. We exceed expectations. Don't believe me..? Okay, here are some recent examples and facts for you: USA surviving the group of death in 2014 World Cup and advancing beyond group stage, only losing by 1 to Belgium in the knock-out stage in 2014 WC (which we played very well), and lastly in 2016 Copa US are semi-finalists still opting to take 3rd place slot in the tournament. Excuse me, what sport are Chile good at? Football, kinda. How many other sports are out there? Much more than just soccer (football), my friend; and we dominate all (Olympics is proof). While Chile sits in the corner sucking on a pacifier, begging to qualify for anything beyond football (soccer).

Gooey_Lagoon - I don't want to take sides, but USA are much richer than any other South American country, and more often than not, have been oppressing inferior countries as long as the world has allowed it (always). I am British and England hasn't got the best track record either. There is a sense of - at least to most who aren't American, that you portray yourselves in such high regards that the world almost seems to revolve around you. Well, this whole fight against terror is a farce. and the destabilisation of the Middle East is nothing more than vile and barbaric. As for dropping two atomic bombs on another country... That's another can of worms. To pacify is much more noble than slaughtering fellow humans. Your team is good and developing. I agree that they have done a good job

DevilsAvacado- You're being completely irrelevant. I'm talking about sports. This has nothing to do with US history, modernization, ethnocentrism, or politics. I'm not arguing that the US are better than anyone ('cause their not from a cultural standpoint, that would be ethnocentric of me and show a level of poor education and complete ignorance). I'm frustrated and tired of people basing on US soccer, thinking they know what were about. You don't see me bashing teams (calling them a joke or a team that needs to break the rules in order to win). No, because that's some bullshit, ignorant, immature, condescending statements. I'm simply defending an improving US soccer team from people who come off small-minded and ignorant, saying US are "trash" soccer team (which is far from the truth).

DevilsAvacado- but it's a simple fact that US are better in sports (in general) than any other nation. Being good at a sport has nothing to do w/money or infrastructure. Maybe a slice of it, but barely. The best athletes in the world (yes I know it's cliche) "started from the bottom." My point to ikfooty1 is think before you talk about US soccer. You don't have room to bash US sports. It's 2016, we don't oppress any countries.
PS. I don't think the world revolves around me (as an American), but some dumb Americans do believe that (which is pathetic and sad).

I don't agree that the USA was a joke. Most if not all the goals conceded could have been easily avoided, but the USA simply didn't show up. But the real joke is Mexico. USA loses 4-0 to number 1 team in the world in semi-final, and Mexico loses 7-0 to Chile in the quarter final. USA out-preformed all but 2 teams in the tournament and still have a chance for 3rd place with a rematch against Columbia. They are NOT a joke.

Yea because "Copa-America semi-finalist" really translates to a joke (*cough cough-- sarcasm buddy). Get outta here man w/that bullshit. Obviously US played awful, don't get it twisted. But look who their facing: arguably the best player in the world to ever play the game (Messi), and the definitely top 3 best international team (Argentina). Look yourself in the mirror before slandering a descent team. England, aren't much better. Sure you more talent across the boards, but yet you guys always come up short in any tournament. No class and failed expectations. That's why many British people have low expectations for 'football.'

KickYourBalls, that's cute, that's the best you can come up with "white trash." I thought it'd be something along the lines of 'fat American, both prove how idiotic and ignorant you are w/these pathetic insults and generalizations from an immature little British boy. You know nothing about me. You obviously don't know a single thing about soccer. You know your trash when you finish your sentence with "lol," showing the fact that you can't argue worth shit with your shallow, impudent statements and replies. Bye bitch

Thank God Martino finally began putting Higuain in the first 11! He's by far the best Argentinian striker at the moment, better than Aguero, and that's a fact! He had the most insane season in one of the best (and definitely THE MOST LIKABLE) clubs in the world, SSC Napoli! I hope the nest season they'll finally win the Scudetto and rock and roll in Champions League!
Viva Argentina!

I personally think that you can't compare the two, regardless of what the some kids on this forum like to do. Messi is at a completely different level as a person, and athlete. He is humble, focused, unselfish. Ronaldo is a great goal scorer and yes, he IS selfish. CR7 seems to have this inner struggle to beat Messi and since he can't, he is always bitter. I wish he comes to terms with his inferiority so he can be at peace with himself.
