This is what Suarez said about the difference between La Liga and the Premier League " In the Premier League you never really know what is going to happen. There is very little between the teams. Here, three or four teams aside, there is a difference with the smaller teams"

He added "I don’t mean this to sound disrespectful but there are some games where you look at the press and they are asking: ‘Let’s see how many goals Barcelona are going to score today?’ In the Premier League, you never know what is going to happen and that is something I miss".

I played against Sunderlands Lyndon Gooch back in high school. Check him out, he's pretty nifty. Will be interestingn if he plays for the US, Ireland, or England. Cheers.

If Man City are going to win the league, they're gonna have to do a lot better than that!!

I think that some players in the City squad are going to have great difficulties to understand what Pep is wanting them to do...

Sunderland deserve draw in this game but it's unfortunate that they help defeat themselves.

I'll be watching Sunderland with interest this year to see how they do with Moyes. Not the most glamorous start to the Guardiola era but 3 points is all that matters!

Considering Caballero keeps giving shit clearances and giving away the ball in City's half I think hart is a lot better with his feet. The reason is because Hart arrived late from the Euro and didn't have time to prepare

Most strikers have ups and downs and one season wonder but Aguero always stays Aguero. One of the best strikers in world history.

Greedy playing cost English teams at least 2-goals per game, everyone wants to have his name on the scoresheet. Pep will talk to Ihenacho for sure, he can't stand wasting 2 vs keeper chances.

If Madrid or Barca were to win a league game like this everyone would emidiately start hating, noone would say it's a good league whatever. here when a good club performs poorly, emidiately all the epl fan boys show up to talk a big game about their league and how great it is.

Simple. EPL fans can't accept that the quality of their league is inferior to La Liga. Also, they can't stand that the quality of Barcelona and Real Madrid make United, City or Chelsea look like Sunderland. Anyone who knows football knows that EPL football is outdated and rather poor tactically.

@Kaka, then you must not watch La Liga week in, week out. Sevilla, Valencia, Malaga, Bilbao, Villarreal, Sociadad, and Atleti have proved to be problematic for these two. Plus, big teams in every sport always stay good and relevant because they stay at the top. Why do you think Juve runs away in their league the last 5 years. They play top quality football every week. City can barely beat Sunderland, it a testament of how overrated their top teams represent England. Barcelona and Real Madrid can win a game 2-0, and the fans and critics won't be satisfied. Standards of football are different, losing two or three games in La Liga can cost you the league, thats how much harder it is. Imagine only being able to lose 3 of 38 games and that might cost you the title.

@Kaka, to win the premier league, over the last 20 years, you need an average of 78 points to win the league. In 09-10, Real Madrid had 96 points and still lost the league to Barcelona. In Spain, the top teams have little to no margin of error. Chelsea recorded in 04/05, 95 points (highest in the league ever), thats enough to come third place in 09/10 season. We won't ever see a Leicester in La Liga, because they standards are to high. When Atleti won, they beat Real and Barcelona and was consistent through out the year. Standards my friend.

@kaka, I do acknowledge that there is little difference between the teams in England. I am not denying that, I am just stating that that is the problem. City have immense resources to their disposal and can not convincingly win against a mid to bottom half team. That is poor from what England labels one of the top teams in England. Im talking about standards in both leagues. Fans will not be satisfied with a 2-0 or 3-0 lead in Spain. They never take the foot off the pedal, rather in the Prem it can only be about winning, regardless of score. Further more, it takes Suarez, who was undoubtably the best player in the Prem since Ronaldo to rightfully fit in easily in a Barcelona side. (Let us not ignore that it took him about 9 matches to score his first goal).

You could argue that la liga has better teams in barca, real and athletico but the epl is more competitive and fun to watch. Personally I would take 1-0 or 2-1 games over 7-0 la liga blowouts and title races between the same two teams each year. This is isn't to say that leagues like the bundesliga where there are dominate teams but still good competition are bad, but when there is such a large difference between the top 3 and the rest as in la liga it loses some appeal.

"to win the premier league, over the last 20 years, you need an average of 78 points to win the league. In 09-10, Real Madrid had 96 points and still lost the league to Barcelona."

That's actually precisely what shows you that the PL is tougher, and harder to win. What you're not saying is how far ahead of the chasing pack those 96-point seasons were.

Last season the difference between 1st and 4th in the PL was 15 points (avg. 14 over the last 6 seasons).

The same for La Liga was 27 last year, and and avg. of 29 over the last 6 season. And that's being generous, because up until 3 years ago, the gap between 1st and 3rd was huge, and is still at an avg. of 18 even including Atletico's two great seasons.

Anyone who knows anything about football knows the rest of La Liga is far behind.

"They never take the foot off the pedal, rather in the Prem it can only be about winning, regardless of score."

What you mean is: as soon as Barca or Real go 2-0 up, the other teams give up and let them cruise to a 5-0 victory. In England they never take their foot off the pedal and instead fight for every single point.

"(Let us not ignore that it took him about 9 matches to score his first goal)."

He did however get an assist on his debut (against Real), an had racked up 6 of them before he scored. He finished his debut season with 16 goals and 14 assists, from 25 appearances (including subs).

It was all too easy for him.

Its not that it is hard. Just the big teams fail to perform at a high level consistently. The top teams are not elite anymore. Put Real, Barca, or Bayern in this league and they will run away from with it. Look how dominant United were when Ferugson was in charge. They were dominant domestically and competed in Europe.
