Not completely, he deserved at least a yellow card and he was going to be sent off anyway with the 2nd yellow card. It was not intentional and the other player was running recklessly too, so you got a point. However, I guess that's how football is; attackers have a lot more freedom and are protected more by the rules.

Since the runner has less control over their movement than the "standing" player, I very much think the referee is right. If the situation were reversed (Granqvist were to have been the one running), the ref might not have even blown the whistle, since the defender was in control of the ball.
Love to see arguments for such conversations other than "you're stupid", "your team sucks". :)
