With all bad issues about racism going through European Politics, it is a great thing to see that at least France National Team does not get affected by the issue. They showed the world how racism should be handled.

As for England, too bad Tom Heaton got bunch of statue defenders like Stones and Jones. Mr. Southgate should not replace him, as Butland eventually got conceded from direct shot.

So sad to see all of these racist comments. France played beautifully. A well deserved win. Great game.

Meh. I'll start caring about it when it's no longer perfectly okay to trash the English.

You mean all the anti-English drivel? Yes, it is so sad to see such racism, but of course no-one ever minds when it's the English.

@lodatz - anti-English?lol. The comment was about how they play. And without doubt England lags behind France by miles. Though there seems to be bright future with the U-21s, but that remains to be seen

England has run out of world class players...these days they exceed expectations at youth level then don't get any better e.g. theo walcott, the ox...hopefully rashford and alli break the mold and keep improving

Yup, We rely on hype of youth in the media which spread to the World. It's all false. We have great young talents (rashford and co) but only with guidance and discipline will they get better. At the moment Dele Ali, Kane and Rashford stand out in the squad. It's the fact PL teams have to field English players for the sake of it says it all. Most English players are over paid for their worth and have lost their motivation to play. Good upbringing and determination is key, something our whole team lack. Confidence gets worse and worse game by game, competition by competition. Huge era of change happening.

Well, we did just win the U20 World Cup. It's not about hype, and never really has been; it's about exposure. This new generation are growing up having watched world class foreign players in the PL, so are raising their game. Before that, we had only the generations of the 90s to look up to, which was very uninspiring.

I guess patience is key right now for us. England have let us down in many competitions. Ridiculous performances and such. Hoping the new talent can give the nation something to look forward to. Southgate seems to be taking risks when needed which is good to see. It's like our players, regardless of talent, were starved of their creativity for the past 10 years. Southgate seems to connect better with the youth. Hopefully we'll see an amazing squad full of passion and determination soon!

Yeah it's the PL clubs that are under pressure to do good. Never get relegated and lose all the TV rights money etc... so they don't risk playing young talent and play "safer proven" talents from abroad. Now we have an extremely young team and most the youth players are getting good game time. Hopefully things will change with the youth.

Yeah, apart from Kane, Alli, Rose, Walker, Dier, Stones, Sterling, Lallana, Milner, Cahill, etc to look at just the Top 4. It's true that Chelsea do not have very many, though.

First two goals are almost copybook. What is the Goal Keeper doing for England?

He deflected both shots. The rebounds are the defenders' mistakes. You don't play a lot of football, do you?

Agreed that the defenders are largely at fault for the rebounds. However, the keeper actually "reflected" both shots back to the center of the penalty area, so in play. Sure it is better than conceding a goal, but a more experienced goalkeeper might have deflected them towards a corner.

Kane easily England's best player...managed to put 2 away and was very good tracking back and defending...France has a lot of talent in their young players (:o) amazing performance from Dembele Mbappe and Pogba...England really struggled to control that huge pocket in central midfield made even more difficult by the speed of the french youngster.

I'm a Netherlands's fan so don't get me wrong. This match was in fact an experimental match for Southgate because number one, only 5 England's first team players start for the game and the rest was second's and reserve's. Yes i know France did the same thing too but France second team are way better than England's. Secondly, I don't know why Southgate played 3-4-2-1 formation and he knew he wouldn't work on the second team players but as what i said, it was an experimental match for him. And some of the few other reasons was France hosted the match and they have the advantage.

wouldn't really judge whole England on this. The starting 11 and formation all seem like experimentation

Things happen. Things change. We are in an era where it's harder to be motivated to play properly or play with true focus and determination when you can play one year of football and have enough money to retire. Plays like Ronaldo and co are key examples of how youth should be. Live your life however, but make sure you are focused and determined to progress and a player. Most our players lack this. Rashford you can see plays for the badge, country, manager and the fans. You can clearly see it. if everyone had that mentality... We'd be amazing with our talents we had. England PL teams once dominated but things change and that mentality has lingered onto new players that think they can turn up to a game and win by just playing for England. Nope, hasn't been like that for a whole...

"that mentality has lingered onto new players that think they can turn up to a game and win by just playing for England."

Like who? Who has that mentality? I think this is just one of those stereotypes that people like to throw around, but which are not true. England have not been an 'arrogant' team for a very long time.

I guess not so arrogant. But playing with no true heart. This squad and our future squad has a lot of potential since it seems they are coming together way better and taking better risks. But it's still not right. We have no real leader on the field anymore. Hard to motivate players at times. We shouldn't be losing to 10 man France like that. Prior to the last goal you can see how many players France had in midfield. They had like 4 unmarked players.... Out numbered us with less men. It's the urgency of players. I saw many players not track or keep at eye out on a player right by them and let them pass through like butter for fun. No real focus and we need to be focused going into these games towards international competitions. Confidence will be hurt!

Nowdays England squad it's full of good players , who have their own personality , but together on the pitch they are poor ....no team spirit , no desire to play and win the match , Mbappe thought he play vs 11 kids who can't even defend having more players on the pitch , what a shame this england team is............
