Match facts

Juventus

  • Juventus have won the trophy twice, in 1985 and 1996, but have lost in the final six times – more than any other club.
  • Juventus have won nine and drawn three of their 12 games in this season's competition, and are seeking to become the first team to lift the trophy unbeaten since Manchester United in 2007/08. United were the sixth club to win the UEFA Champions League without losing a match.
  • Juve are unbeaten in their last three meetings (W1 D2) with Real Madrid, since a 2-1 loss at the Bernabéu in the 2013/14 group stage with Ronaldo scoring twice in the first 30 minutes.
  • Buffon, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Leonardo Bonucci, Andrea Barzagli and Claudio Marchisio all started the 2015 final for Juve, with Stefano Sturaro an unused substitute. Giorgio Chiellini missed out through injury.
  • Buffon will be the second oldest player to feature in a European Cup/Champions League final (39 years and 4 months) after Edwin van der Sar (40 years and 6 months). The Italian goalkeeper has lost his first two finals, both with Juventus (2003 and 2015).
  • Gianluigi Buffon is the sole survivor of Juventus's 2003 final appearance in their 2016/17 squad.
  • Dani Alves has scored more goals (10) and delivered more assists (25) than any other full-back in the Champions League since his debut in 2007/08.

Real Madrid

  • There has never been a repeat winner of the UEFA Champions League. There have been plenty of sides that have won consecutive European Cups, but no side has yet to win two straight Champions League titles since its inception in 1992/93. Real Madrid could be the first team to ever do that in Wales.
  • This match is a repeat of the 1998 final in Amsterdam, won 1-0 by Real Madrid against a Juventus side featuring current Merengues coach Zinedine Zidane. That gave the Spaniards the seventh of their record 11 European Cups.
  • Madrid have won all five of their UEFA Champions League finals, a record number of wins.
  • Should Madrid triumph in Cardiff, it will be the tenth UEFA Champions League win for a Spanish side – twice as many as the next highest-ranked nation, Italy.
  • Zinedine Zidane could win his second Champions League in only his second season as manager of a first team. He was in the Juventus side that lost against Real Madrid in the only previous Champions League final between both teams back in 1998.
  • Cristiano Ronaldo has reached the 10-goal mark for the sixth consecutive Champions League campaign – no other player has done it on more than two consecutive seasons (Messi, Van Nistelrooy).
  • Ronaldo has hit the target in all four of his appearances against Juventus for Real Madrid – five goals in all.

Predictions

This is a very hard match to predict. Real Madrid come into this Champions League final as the defending champions. They have also contested two of the previous three finals, winning both, so Zinedine Zidane’s team certainly know what it takes to win this tournament.

Real Madrid are definitely more experienced side when it comes to Champions League Finals. Expect Ronaldo to give a top class performance in this match, where we should see him and his teammates lift the trophy after the final whistle.

I honestly can't predict who will win this match. On one hand, Real are always going to be contenders because of their history and current form. On the other hand, Juve made us look like B tier team in first match and we made Real look like one. But ABC football doesn't work in football and this match can go anyways. Just need some good football.

Ronaldo will be invisible this game that is for sure... Juventus defence will be ultra tight so i am expecting max 1 goal from Madrid and Dybala, Alves and Buffon will be the stars of the game... Mark my words...

Dont rule out CR7 this time. He's actually done many important goals in bigger games. He scores a bit less but more important goals this season imo.

real madrid isnt the best offence, Monaco and Barcelona score more than Madrid , but they have strong Mentality and team spirit, BBC is inconsistent for several reasons like injury and bad form, ronaldo rarely appear in 1st half of season, Benzema only appear vs Atletico and Dortmund, Bale always injured .. but i admit it they have the best Full backs and Midfielder in the world at the moment....

Higuain will score twice. Ronaldo may score a disallowed goal. If RM score, it will be during first 20 minutes, the rest of the game will belong to Juve.

Juve's attack is pretty average. Don't think Madrid will give Alves as much space as Monaco did. At the end of the day, offense is the best defense 2-1 Madrid
