he would surly improve and gain new perspectives, still, if one of the two chances of Palacio and Higuain in world cup finals had been taken,he would have won everything and you wouldn't be saying this right now. so it's not so smart to blame him for others' mistakes

Messi not perform bad, he get World cup 2014 best plater award ,Argentina got into WC final, argentina just unlucky losing 3 finals, all of those finals are 0-0 at 90 mins, in other hand portugal only manage 3rd in world cup group, portugal won Euro with only 2 wins in entire tournament , that luck which only happen once in 100 years, luckier than Greece 2004, CR7 is not good example because portugese player cross at him like at real madrid, by the way Neymar won what with Brazil ?

what about Lahm or Muller ? won everything with Germany yet only stay at one club, Bayern and Germany have different play style at that time, Spain also success with player loyal at one club but they use Tiki taka the same as Barca so their player cant be example of it,

Everybody focus on messi.. but sadly to say that we about to see the end of andres iniesta..
He still has the magic pass but he start losing his dribble touch..
At the end you can't fight time.. i think iniesta is about at the end of his peak performances

Messi will never win world cup or copa america if he is staying at barca, he won everything for Barca, with the same playing style every fu***ing year. I think he didn't fulfill his potential, he need to leave Barca to improve, to gain new perspective of his football. Because Argentina national team will never be like Barca, and Messi only know to play with Barca style, so it is not suprising he won nothing for Argentina. It is sad if he leaves, but if he want to evolve one more time, he must leave. CR7 is the best example and Neymar will be another success example.

LOL thats full of BS, Messi is carrying both BARCA AND Argentina, he reached 4 finals in a row, he lost them but he reached them singlehandedly. Barca style is dead with Enrique, he is playing with the weekest Midlefield of the top european team. Messi progressed from winger to false nine to striker to ten to captain. He does everything for his team so you think he needs other players to progress ? he is the one that make others progress if you watch his games...

Don't blame them in general. Messi had a minimal input in the World Cup knock outs etc... He was a key component, but you can't put all the blame on a few players. Messi had a few clean cut chances that he should have ended the game with too. Even remembering his last minute freekick high into the stands... Easy to blame others. But the game doesn't revolve around him, and should never. It's a team game and managers were at fault for most of it. Watching Messi vs RM the other day, Messi was made useless. Team spirit was low. He isn't captain material, you know why? Because you don't retire on your nation then come back. A captain is PUYOL! A leader is PUYOL! not Messi. He has one part of the game down, but other other side... he needs improving.

No tiki-taka, no party. Messi is still out of this world, but Barça used to knock me off my feet and now they look so predictable and blunt.

I think Barcelona management and vice president is really foolish because Barcelona team needs striker urgently and the last player Barcelona bought is osman dembley from dortmund and does not even deserve 50 million not 125 million .... WTF

I didn't see the match but from highlights it seems like Messi is only soldier on the field...
nobody else trying to do something...this will be good enough for 90% of matches and Messi as always will deliver but top teams in LaLiga and UCL will double/triple/ to stop Messi and we will be in big trouble......

I did see the match and I can tell you that you're completely right :-( it's a sad thing, definitely for a player like Messi because we're not going to see anyone like him anymore when he retires. He deserves so much more and I sincerely hope that the Barcelona management either gets kicked out or starts thinking about the way their handling their club the last few years. You can't win big prizes with a team like this...

Messi has a team to feed him were the comments few years back, but never appreciated his quality always finded a way to let him down. Even though in his worst days he still carries Barca. Anyways this man is unlucky as usual.. I hope 2018 will be his year..

we still need dribblers. Deniz Suarez was good , but his passing was a little bit poor. Hope he can improve it. Anyway win is a win. Hope we can sign Coutinho.

Paco certainly improved since his last game. Looks more relaxed in controlling the ball. Wasn't exactly Messi's day today but oh well, two should be enough for him. The crossbar just said enough is enough, Messi.

lol Paco is nowhere near Barcelona level and never will be. How wasn't it Messi's day? First goal was deflected in to his luck and the ball literally was handed to him on a plate of gold by the Alaves defenders. He's lucky after missing that penalty.

I did say that Paco wasn't at Barcelona's level. But it's good to see atleast he's contributing than last game, where he did absolutely nothing. Messi was not looking motivated in the first half. He made some error in his passes and some of his dribbling was predictable. But it only goes to show how Messi's bad day can still carry Barcelona. On any given day, with the likes of Suarez, he would have performed much better.

@Drbutterface He didn't miss the penalty. That was bottom left corner. Goalie did a great job. Give some credit to the goalkeeper. It was an excellent save. That being said, Messi proved he doesn't need to score a penalty to beat a team.
