Massive result for Spurs! Excellent win, although Dortmund's Aubameyang goal should count.

It is an end to end game, with Dortmund dominates the first half and Spurs control the second half. Both teams can give Real Madrid a good run!

4/5 English teams start out with a bang!

Referee got key moments wrong all night. Aubameyang was onside. Dortmund were offside in the bulid up to the Yarmolenko goal. Very harsh red card on Vertonghen. However, the better team won tonight. Spurs created by far the better chances. Unlucky not to be 5-1 up at one point.

They need Dembele? If this keeps happening don't be surprised if Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leaves.

Why tho? Nobody would be surprised if he left, for he said real is his dream, no matter if they play good or bad. But i doubt Real is gonna invest in him. Then there are clubs interested in auba like AC Milan, but .. you know ... then he could as well stayin dortmund, hwere he is respected and can play every game. dembele is a good player but there will be other talented youngsters that will take his role at dortmund. the problem is not an individual player but that they have to adapt the different way they have to play football under bosz. and morover tottenham has a really good team and dortmund played very decent imo.

Spurs paid the refs. Denied two BvB goals (Auba and Pulisic). Fire these blind refs, please lol

Be glad that Yarmolenko's goal stood, considering there was an offside in the build-up. ;)

Be glad Kane wasn't called for a foul on his goal drive. See I can nit-pick too ;)

But the difference is that my nitpick is a valid one, whereas yours is not. :) Kane was the one being fouled, and the ref waved Play On. You should watch the video again.

lol you're nitpick is absolutely invalid. Yarmolenko came back onside. His goal was a beauty. Either way if at least one BvB goal wasn't denied it would've been a different game. Bye.

Both of those near post goals Burki should be doing much better than that... if he doesn't improve dortmund should look for a different keeper. Never looks sure of himself, very clumsy, and makes 2 errors for every great save

Kane's near post strike was literally as far in the corner as you can get. No keeper would have saved that.

Yep, with Buerki's kind of positioning, probably no keeper would have save that.

Well, you already have PL predictor to predict Arsenal results. Isn't that enough for this year? I think it would be complicated to have 3 predictor at once. At least for FR.

MOTM Toby Alderweireld.
Fantastic first half from Dortmund. Their possession numbers were impressive, but they were incisive too. They looked dangerous the whole half. Credit to Sanchez, Vertonghen, Toby, Davies and Aurier for weathering the storm. I thought Aurier lacked good positioning at first but settled in well; he already makes me feel more comfortable for than Trippier. Davinson's two mistakes were nearly capitalized on (Pulisic and Auba chances), but he was excellent besides those two moments: towering headers, confidence on the ball, I was really impressed.
I'll be really excited to meet up with Dortmund again. Hopefully both teams are closer to full strength.

Good point, his two goals were with his weak foot too!
Nice to see Poch alter the tactics a bit against a quality pressing side. Seeing them sit back, hack the ball long under pressure when needed, and counter seemed like a mature performance.

I have full respect for both teams. This was a proper CL match I used to love watching as a kid. No hard defence or possession for 50 years before an attack. BvB attacked incredibly high up, love to see this style of play. It's incredibly risky (as it ended up so) and managers are at risk to being sacked due to losing games by using aggressive tactics like BvB so it's great to see someone taking a risk. Spurs on the counter my word, so clinical. The confidence of Son and Kane to go onto their left foot and shoot instead of cutting in was incredible to see, not many players can pull that off. The workrate and organisation skills of Spurs I think trumped BvB. Pressing so high up but being forced to slow down by Spurs was the key. Pace of the game was incredible.

Yeah way too soon. Smaller teams being played too. Wait till last 16. I think they would need a little longer to be cemented since the top dogs such as RM, Barca, Bayern, PSG, (probably Juve with a full squad) are quite gelled together and know they are good.
