Insulting 'fans' such as this plank really piss me off. 'to drawing against Atalanta'? Atalanta finished 4th in Serie A last season. Above Lazio, Milan and Inter. They qualified out of a group containing Lyon and mass spending Everton by finishing top and not losing a game. In the likes of Masiello, Gomez and Ilicic, they have seasoned performers whilst the likes of Caldara, Spinazzola, Freuler and Cristante are up and coming talented young players who've performed all season. Demeaning and belittling clubs who have produced many many great young players on shoestrings is nothing short of disgraceful.

Michy finally found his team while it's doubtful Chelsea would let him go so easily next season.

This Match was very interesting but finally the Result was logical because Dortmund team > Atlanta team in the history of football but respect for Atlanta team for their great performance ..... Now Dortmund can buy Michy Batshuayi at the end of the season from chelsea

They can't buy him, Chelsea didn't put a buy clause. If they were to buy Chelsea would add a buyback clause. But in my opinion I don't think Chelsea will sell.

WOW What a performance from Batshuayi. Just shows Chelsea kills talent and is the worst place for a young player. I can't even think of one who's come through there in the last 5-10 years.!

wow interesting!, to be in the field you must be the best XI ... grab your chances.
Batshuayi have the quality. that why they loan him there.

its seem look like your Auba not so special, Chelsea send backup striker to rock.
good luck Auba in Premier League.

Chelski won the UEFA Youth UCL 2 out of past 3 years. The best we've seen is Kenedy and Loftus Cheek who has now left.

I believe transfer policy was taken out of his hands by the owner.
He's simply working with what is given to him.
He will most likely leave and have his contract terminated at the end of the season.

@koppite: the transfer policy has nothing to do whether he starts him or not!?

In that sense I agree with you.
I suppose it's partly appeasing the owner cos they spent large sum on Morata, but if the main aim is winning games, it's perplexing why he wouldn't give the necessary games for Michy to thrive.
Poor decisions all round :)

Good job Michy!
Still not good for Dortmund though, Atalanta is a top 6 team in Italy but had 2:2 till the 90'min vs second best German team...

Finally someone who knows how to handle a ball up front for Belgium. Finally someone who can play up front with Eden or any other Belgian technical player.

Mertens can fit at right wing though, it should be Hazard-Lukaku/Bats-Mertens in front of Nainggolaan-Dembele-KDB imo.

Well it's a win but I don't think Dortmund can feel *too* happy with this still. Just one goal margin and two away goals is pretty decent for Atalanta coming into the second leg

From beating the greatest clubs to drawing against Atalanta. What have we become.

EDIT:, I wrote this message while the match was in the 60th minute. Still taking 2 goals at home is all but a good position.

Atlanta defeated Juventus lately, and finished first of their group above Lyon. RIP Football IQ

@Milanlamiavita Some guys seem to have fun with purposely misunderstanding and misinterpreting what others say, dont they?

Let's make a checklist:

"Atalanta finished 4th in Serie A last season." - does that make them comparable to teams like RM, Barca, Bayern?

"They qualified out of a group containing Lyon and mass spending Everton by finishing top and not losing a game." - does that make them comparable to teams like RM, Barca, Bayern?

"In the likes of Masiello, Gomez and Ilicic, they have seasoned performers whilst the likes of Caldara, Spinazzola, Freuler and Cristante are up and coming talented young players who've performed all season." - does that make them comparable to teams like RM, Barca, Bayern?

No it doesnt. Acting like I had been belittling their achievement is plain dishonest, to put it politely. They had a decent season, yes. They managed to get through a group of...well, were RM, Barca, Chelsea, Bayern or Juve in that group? Yes? Well, then why are you acting as if my statement meant belittling, when it clearly stated: "From beating the greatest clubs to drawing against Atalanta"? Do all these achievements, as merited as they are, make them one of the greatest clubs?

And then you have the courage to make jokes about my football IQ? ;) Maybe you should check yours in reading comprehension and logical calculus instead of offending me for my statements.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Bayern Munich? Can you please tell me when B.Dortmund ever beat any of those teams in a European cup final? Every dog has its day in 1 or 2 games. You're making out that Borussia Dortmund have somehow reached the pinnacle by dominating European football in the past few years. They haven't. They made a final and lost. Get off your tooth fairy make believe high horse.

"Can you please tell me when B.Dortmund ever beat any of those teams in a European cup final?" - another of your logically flawed argumentations. Why does it necessarily have to be a european cup final? Dormund beat Bayern multiple times (and btw were the better team in the final and only lost due to the falsely disallowed goal, as you might remember) and even RM more than twice.

That's all I've been saying: We managed to beat the greatest teams and now we're back to playing bad games about 2nd/3rd tier teams. And it's a fact, period.

If this is too hard for you to get as a clear thought, please dont try your berlusconi-logics with me.

Beating those teams or winning any European finals is the pinnacle of European club football. The last time Borussia Dortmund did that for the one and only time, I was still in primary school. Your thoughts are as clear as the roads of the Friuli on a mid December's morning. Don't try and bring politicians into the conversation on the back of stereotypical drivel. Grow up, get off the make believe high horse, don't disrespect other clubs and no one would say a bad word to you.

You can try to sound condescending as you like, but I didnt disrespect anyone. I think you just liked to make a drama about it and put things in my mouth that I never said, by making wrong assumptions.

Like I said, the problem here lies in reading comprehension. Practice it, it will help you in your life.

And I'm out.
