Match facts

Wigan Athletic

  • This is the fifth meeting between these two sides in the FA Cup, with Wigan winning each of the last two (L2), including an FA Cup final victory thanks to Ben Watson's goal in 2013.
  • Wigan have won each of their last six FA Cup games at home, with three of those victories coming against Premier League sides - Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and West Ham.
  • The Latics have only lost one of their 10 FA Cup matches against top-flight opposition (W7 D2), progressing past Premier League sides in rounds three and four this season.

Manchester City

  • Since losing 5-1 against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup fifth round in 2016, Man City have kept clean sheets in each of their last five on the road, all under Guardiola's stewardship.
  • Sergio Aguero has scored 16 goals in 17 FA Cup games for Man City since his debut in the competition in January 2012; three more than any other player in the competition in that time.
  • Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in nine goals in his last nine FA Cup starts, scoring three and assisting six.

Predictions

With no midweek game it should be a pretty strong City side so we can only see a third successive defeat for Wigan and City to move another step closer to the quadruple.

Watching the game right now. Ref absolutely biased against city to the point its disgusting. Tons of fouls from nothing against City, one of which made a chance for Wigan, (which they missed). And tops it off at halftime with a red card for nothing. Delph's leading foot didn't make contact, and he got the ball. He had a yellow card out, but then changed to a red. Absolutely disgusting.
