100% correct decision in the yellow card for Song with his hesitated run up.. Should have taken the penalty again though due to encroachment but the yellow is a warning and that should be issued.

That was a farce last night. Dont think VAR is the only problem here. The standard of refereeing in England is by far the worst in Europe. Absolute trash.

Basically, Spurs scored in the 6th minute, but the game was stopped for a few minutes while the VAR was consulted, and then the goal was (incorrectly, mind you) disallowed. Maybe FR just left it in by mistake.

it might look beautiful, but it's much easier to have injuries... Sliding around makes your knee ligaments cry for help lol

I liked Winks against Madrid but he was losing the ball like a remote today.

Top class performance from Lucas Moura and Lamela. Foyth continues to impress as well. Good to see Llorente AKA Big Sexy with a smile on his face. Spurs will need scoring in depth to make the top 4, Llorente could go a long way to providing relief to Kane if he kicks on.

Yeah, that was bizarre, although let's face it, if it was Neymar the penalty would have stood. I have no idea why the penalty wasn't re-taken.

I disagree. Feinting before completing your run up is specifically permitted by rule 14. I don't see how you can argue that Son had completed his run up when he's 2 yard away from the ball and could not physically reach it when he stuttered. Throw in encroachment by both teams which should have triggered kick to be retaken. Ref made a hash of it and sadly not his only wrong decision in that game if you watched it. So much for VAR lol.

You can hesitate or feint during the run up but you cannot fully stop and restart your run. that is where the foul was given

I'm sorry sir, please do not share inaccurate information here.
There are only 4 occasions where a caution is given regarding the taking of a penalty kick.

1. Offence committed goalkeeper resulting in no goal.
2. Illegal feinting resulting in both goal and no goal.
3. Wrong kicker resulting in goal or no goal.
4. Goalkeeper and Kicker commit offences at the same time (Goal - Caution kicker | No goal - Caution Kicker and Goalkeeper)

- There was enchroachment by both attacking players and defending players.
- Referee deemed Son to use Illegal feinting

Correct restart: Indirect free kick and caution for kicker.
Referee made the correct follow up to his call.

From the FA website:

Once the referee has signalled for a penalty kick to be taken, the kick must be taken. If, before the ball is in play, one of the following occurs:

the player taking the penalty kick or a team-mate infringes the Laws of the Game:
if the ball enters the goal, the kick is retaken

Conclusion? Ref made the wrong call. The correct decision was to retake the penalty.

I can't believe Tottenham sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City and signed a player from the youth academy named Kyle Walker-Peters. Which happens to be a right back as well.

VAR: wasting everyone's time, only to then make the wrong call. That aside, great 2nd half from the lads.. COYS.

That was a focking messed up game. Both the snow and the VAR messed it up big time.

It was kind of funny to see them out in shovels marking the pitch.
