Without a single doubt one of the most dramatic football matches in history. Juventus were gladiators. They fought so hard and would've deserved to go through. But that man Cristiano Ronaldo. Not just the goal. The way he leads his team, gets the crowd going when everyone think they're about to fall out of the competition, and produces the quality when it matters most. He'll no doubt be remembered by a lot of people as the greatest footballer of all time, and to me, the one word that describes Ronaldo best is 'big'. Football: Bloody hell.

1) This photo came from a reporter sitting behind the goal who flew back with Ref Michael Oliver and his team. Pretty straightforward decision. Juve fans went wayy too far abusing his wife (also a Ref) on Twitter. Glad to see Juve fans also sending thru messages of support after seeing this.

2) The second photo is from Michael Oliver’s position from what he saw.

The English commentators kissing and covering their fellow country man referee's ass = priceless! There will be no English referees in the WC, you know! That's even better!

It's not because English referees suck ( they're actually best in the world )English referees aren't going to the world cup because of the ongoing political arguments between England and Russia don't be such a numpty

They're not covering his ass. It was 100% a penalty. People are just being salty because a last minute penalty is harsh to lose on when the underdogs lost.

@matrix Dude, stop smoking crack! English and Spanish referees are the worst of the worst ever! What kind of ground hole you crept up and started sharing your stupidity with the rest of the world!? My experience with dealing with English people is that they're total stiffs and tools! You're no exception! A tournament without referees from England is a step to a better game! Keep that dude for your island laughable league! He'll never see another game in Europe anyway!

By the way you are arguing, just insulting people, it is clear who crept out of a hole recently. You probably don't know anybody on this forum to judge them the way you are and you are probably judging the call with the same short-sightedness.

After watching again - the photos or GIF of the 'contact' shows nothing... Watch the entire play and see how THE MOMENT Vazquez identifies he is in a good position and about to get the pass he is not sprinting towards the ball, but sprint two steps and then he put the brakes... What can Benatia do? It's basically like a body feint, just without the ball... Benatia must track his sprinting, but before he knows it Vazquez has put on the brakes and is doing nothing to attack the ball but waiting for the contact... Benatia did not so much shove him as he was trying to avoid touching him (with his hand, as funny as that sounds...). Disgusting play, unmanly play, but smart play. Clearly was a penalty. Vazquez is a great player to have.

And the real idiots are the Juve defenders trying to catch CR7 offside. If they just stood strong and not sprint in the wrong direction... Without this hole in the defense Kroos pass would have just been an easy header to save for Buffon. Vasquez would not have been able to draw the penalty if the defenders don't abandon their post for a hopeless offside trap

You have noticed something practically no one did. I saw the same. That little piece of shit Vazques that won't be remembered for anything, did just that! He had no intention to play with the ball, he had no intention to score, he just waited for the defender to breath in his neck and started dropping on the pitch like the little bitch he is. There must be serious changes in the game. Rules that dictate direct red card and 10 game ban for human trash like Vazques. Poor shmuck he probably thinks he did great...

Exactly I agree! Zidane plays people like vazquez not because of their skills, but their smart dirty play that they’re good at to get some penalty. And thats why ronaldo was not the main scorer after the first half

Holy shit you guys are retarded. Vasquez didn't slow down to get fouled, he was chesting down the ball so he could shoot. If Benatia hadn't mowed him down he would've definitely scored.

@SandyOz Well, Indonesia is too far away from the civilized world for you to see exactly what happened. Also, a blind men can watch an episode a million times and still not see the obvious. Lets agree to disagree: Hardcore RM fans and tools from England will keep saying it's a penalty. The rest of the world says it's not! Payback's a bitch, you know! You'll get it sooner or later!

wrong, if Benatia hadn't mowed him down Buffon would have caught the ball easy as a breeze. Vazquez' chest control was off. Anyway, I do agree that Vazquez provoked the contact by stopping his run a bit... it's a dirty move but not illegal. bad luck for us once again.

That was dramatic night , On this level you are not allowed a single mistake . Navas did one when the ball slips from his hand . and after a perfect football show of 92 mint it was Risky takle by Juv defender .

Real defence was week with out Ramos ( young boys) .

billions of people around the world watching, 3 goal down thousands in the stadium
only one guy can hold all this pressure and thats for sure Ronaldooooooooo

well played juv , Real is the Winner

Mandzukic height advantage at the back post ? That’s Ramos bread and butter.

Did you not see ball crossed to Mandzukic noticing the height advantage he had at the back post ? That’s Ramos bread and butter.

Juve calling referee a cheat. Righto! Vasquez attempts shot. Was any part of the ball touched? If he takes the man it's a foul. Inside the box = Penalty.

My takeaways from the game:
1. Bale seems off from the rest of the team. It was a mistake playing him from the beginning. Benzema should have started
2. Real definitely missed Ramos and Nacho. Vallejo is not ready for such a big game. Varane was forced to mark Higuain and also Matuidi who often waited in the box, leaving Mandzukic with Carvajal
3. Great early sub from Allegri taking off Di Sciglio for Lichtsteiner. Marcelo was overwhelmed
4. I don't get why Juve laid back after scoring the third, Madrid took over the game and forced them make mistakes and commit fouls.
5. Navas had a nightmare. He could do better in thr 2nd goal while the 3rd goal was absolutely disaster
6. Real are always outplayed by teams that press high. Liverpool would be the last team I wanna get in semi-final
