cape verde island is rising slowly,with sometime we will be the best in Africa.We been competing in Africa less then15 years.we used to be the last in fifa ranking .now we are among the best top 5 in africa In short period of time.

no offense but to be honest, I've also never heard of this nation before. It is such a waste of time memorizing names of all the nations on the planet. no one should be embarrassed by not knowing Cape Verde.

Ok I was being harsh maybe. But there are only around 200 countries/ islands on this planet. Asking to memorise the millions of stars in our galaxy alone would be difficult. It's quick to learn them on Sporcle(.com) world map quiz. Well that's how I know and remember them.

Cape Verde is actually among top 7 football powerhouse in Africa.. they almost came to last world cup, but were disqualified for fielding a player that had two yellow cards already.. i think Cameroon/ Tunisia took their spot in the world cup..

Surprisingly, according to FIFA rankings, Cape Verde are 38th in the world, just one spot behind Wales. And this was a friendly... but still, my first reaction was wondering if it was match fixing or just total lack of motivation. Either way, abysmal display by Portugal.

I bet on sports. And most of the people here don't understand that this squad contained a lot of youngsters, coach did not pick a single person out of the squad that competed in European competition, hence the Market showed a huge DROP in odds for Cape Verde, a lot of sharps won money on this. People who talk about Portugal playing abysmal probably have no clue there was not a single main starter on here.

hehe. Well I'm referring to national teams, but fair enough. Milan and serie a unlike the portuguese national team have history at least. Portuguese history at international level peaks at a semi final loss in the world cup and the best being a comical defeat to the greece on home soil. We can all laugh at our predicament, but the laugh will never be as loud as the complete joke that your national team has always been.

I hate sounding like a troll but we beat ManU in semi finals and won the cup that year. Manchester beat us in round of 16 (fair and square) but lost afterwards. If you start talking trash about my team dont get butthurt when I start talking about yours.
