Match facts

Everton

  • Everton’s victory against Arsenal in April ended a run of 13 without one against the Gunners in the Barclays Premier League.
  • Last season Everton opened the season with two draws; they drew their opener last week at Leicester.
  • Everton have scored at least two goals in each of their last six Premier League home games.
  • Steven Naismith has scored four and assisted two in his last nine Premier League appearances.

Arsenal

  • Arsenal are the only away team to score six goals in a Premier League game at Goodison Park (in August 2009).
  • Arsenal have now gone four games without a win against Everton, their worst such run in the Premier League.
  • The Gunners have never gone five league games without beating the Toffees in their history.
  • Arsenal won more away games than any other Premier League team in 2013-14 (11), yet ended the season with a goal difference of only +2 on the road.

Predictions

Goodison Park is always a very hard place to come away from with three points - only three sides managed it last season - so a share of the spoils could be a good result for the visitors given their European exertions.

Final Score – 1 : 1

arsenal should take the day but, arsene wenger should come up with flexibility in his ideology, he is too rigid, that's reason we have been under for a while now

Yes both Sanchez and Campbell are fast and capable players but they’re not natural strikers, Taking Giroud out is going to take out a whole dimension of play. Sure he's slow and I really think that we need a finer striker but he's still strong, tall and able to hold the ball up. Playing someone like Sanchez who's a natural winger will cause the height and strength of the attack to weaken heaps so the option of crossing it or putting a long pass up field is going to work out a lot worse. Even if Giroud's not world class he's still decent at heading, finishing, holding the ball up and offers something to the attack that's sadly lacking as far as our squad goes at the moment. So unless we sign a world class striker or Sanago suddenly becomes brilliant then right now Giroud's the way to go.

And who do you propose to play up front instead?

I don't have too much confidence ahead of this game.. We still don't have proper CDM and Giroud MUST improve his finishing if Arsenal are willing to take some pts home. Hopefully Chambo starts ahead of Santi ...

Yeah I hate it when Wenger puts Cazorla out wide, we need more pace. We only have one player in the starting line up who has pace (Sanchez). Can't wait for Walcott to come back.

He's better in a central position. You need pace out on the wings and he isn't fast enough.

I think we need a new LB and CDM. We should get Ricardo Rodriguez and Lars Bender! And then if we can afford it, a decent striker.

We have to play like we did vs Manchester City, then we can think about points. If we will play like in Tuesdays vs Besiktas, we will get raped..
