it's morbidly entertaining watching a coach metaphorically burn more money than i will likely ever see in player value on a shit strategy

These are dropped points for Tottenham. End of story. You can sugar coat this however you want, but Mourinho went to Spurs to not lose against a better team. The end. That is what you do when you face a team that you know is your superiour on the pitch. You play to defend and counter attack. There were points in the match where Chelsea defended with 7 at the back. Typical Mourinho. The fact that he played with no striker tells the whole story. One shot on goal that came at the 65th minute. At this point, with the points they have, there's no way they make a Top 4 challenge.

I was always afraid when Wilian took set pieces. Every single one looked dangerous. Credit to Mourinho's gameplan which kept Spurs on their toes. Opportunity missed to gain ground on the top 4 clubs, but solid point for booth clubs in the end. COYS

Yes, because it's a boring league. This was merely a 'boring' game, that was actually very tense and tactical. You'd know this if you actually watched it.

"I would rather watch spurs and Chelsea draw in a great game than watch barca smash some unknown team 3-0"

more like 5-0.. Been a couple of 9-0 matches as well..

Even less interesting now when Sevilla and Valencia are playing badly.

Why are spurs happy with a draw?
They have beaten a side 5 points off the relegation zone.

LOL Bayern could win 10 more UCLs but Chelsea fans would still hold that one victory they had over our heads probably since they had no greater win and Bayern have 5.

Ok, Ok it was a decent read but there are a few fundamental flaws in your argument 1) Most talents are actually made outside the EPL example in the french league and Bundesliga, EPL bought most of their talents from these leagues just look at most of BPL's star players. 2) you talk about Bayern/Madrid etc taking players from smaller clubs but don't those players have a choice of where they want to go and could have easily said no? So don't blame the clubs for wanting to better themselves, also isn't Man City's best player a former Bundesliga player? So Bpl technically weakened Wolfsburg, one of our competitors, so don't blame us for the lack for competition in our respective leagues.

1) That doesn't make any difference. The same is true of the Bundesliga, La Liga and Serie A. 2) I don't blame the clubs for wanting to better themselves. I was pointing out that they have enormous domestic advantage, and in the case of La Liga, actual financial advantage. These things are not true of the PL, where TV rights are essentially even, and there is not the dominance of one team (or two) over everyone else. Players go within the Bundesliga to the undisputed superteam. There is no equivalent in the PL, thus all the best players don't get put in one place. If you take the star-power of Bayern and give half of their players to Dortmund, then Bayern would not be as good as they are, because half of the talent went to BVB. THAT's what the PL is like.

cont. In fact, look at the very case you highlight: Kevin de Bruyne. He's not their best player, but he certainly is ONE of their best. What other notable Bundesliga transfers did we get into the PL this summer? Schweinsteiger, in LVG's oh-so-thrilling United, and Son to Spurs, where he is considered a promising talent. I can't think of much else that was a big deal. If the PL was like the Bundesliga, then all of the good ones would have been to the same team. See what I mean?

Bayern Munich, Germany 0 58
Did Firmino and Dzeko end up at Bayern? There is a lot of talents in the Bundesliga they just aren't talked about as much as Bayern's . A Bundesliga clubs main focus is creating players not buying that is why the national team is so good opposed to England and it could also be said that this is their demise since they usually sell right after due to clauses in contracts which again isn't Bayerns fault cause that's stupid management.

Also don't forget Bundesliga clubs have more money than you think, Wolfsburg is owned by Volkswagen they have shit tons of money, Red Bull Leipzig, Dortmund, Hoffenheim, Ingolstadt and Monchengladbach all have more money than you think and are very capable of keeping their players and getting more.

It's hardly stupid management; it's just financial muscle. And if Bayern had wanted Firminho, they would have gotten Firminho. Look, I'm not blaming Bayern for being a super-team. I have nothing against them for it, but it IS the reason why they can get whomever they wish at a relatively good price. How much did you pay for Vidal? 37m euros. If United had tried to buy him, Juve would have said 50m, at least, because they know the pressure United are under. Instead, becxause there is no internal pressure in the German league for Bayern, and they are already a great team, there's no reason why they'd let Juve raise the price. Vidal went to Bayern knowing he was joining the champions. He's practically guaranteed a league title. At United? Not so much. See what I mean?

@Lodatz, dude why do you keep bringing Serie A into the equation? in this current season Serie A is the most competitive league of Europe's top 5. the league leader changed 6 times in 14 rounds. latest change happened just yesterday with Napoli beating Inter and taking the 1st spot from them. you want to pray for your beloved "best league in the world" that Serie A isn't on the rise again, because if it is, then you can kiss your self-appointed title goodbye. but hey, wouldn't you fancy another Football Italia? i certainly would.

@shpalman: why? Um, because for the last 4 seasons in a row the exact same team has won the title, and with only a single year of Milan being decent, Inter won it 5 times in a row. That's a pretty solid history of being a one-horse race, over the last decade. If you don't like it? Tough. It's a fact.
