How? He wasnt at fault for both goals and could do nothing about the first one and it was just poor Marking. The second was a regular 1-on-1 but when suarez goes 1-on-1 there is always only one winner. He pulled of some good saves to keep england in it.

Comments on England : Forward: Ive got no problems with Sturridge playing up front and Rooney supporting him. He's good at running into channels and Rooney always finds him. Just perhaps maybe Hodgson could give Rooney the main role and let someone else supporting him, like Wilshere or Barkley. Then you can put Sturridge in the wing. Or get Lambert up front, Rooney supports, and Sturridge on the wing. Overall, England couldve done better. They just lacked character, focus and determination.As for experience, sometimes talent is just as important as experience.

Comments on England : Midfield: For me, Gerrard is just not the right man to captain England. He disappeared in both games. Cant believe he stills mess it up even when playing for England. Should have done better with the header, rather than passing it to Suarez. Gerrard's head was just not in the both games. Lampard would be a better choice, or Rooney. Henderson, clearly not experienced enough to play in these games. Wilshere would be a better choice. Sterling played well in both matches. He can give something different to attacking side. I have no idea Welbeck gets to play first team for both matches. He didnt add anything to the team. Perhaps Barkley could give some speed or Lallana can get some cross in.

Comments on England : Defence: Baines, was the best left back in epl, didn't play like one. Cahill and Jagielka were just not clicking together. Plus, putting an Everton centre back against Suarez is never a good choice. Hodgson shouldve try to get Terry out of retirement bcoz he's been solid at the back partnering with Cahill. Johnson, lacked focus when going against Cavani before assisted Suarez. But he did great with the assist to Rooney.

This is just basically England. They start a match play like cowards just defending in their own box. When they go 1-0 down they immediately want revenge, as you saw vs Italy and Uruguay when England went 1-0 down they went for a quick response. When England equalize, they just sit back as usual and try and get a draw like chickens. And when the score is 2-1 to the opposition, England try equalizing again but there isn't enough time so they lose. England is just a overhyped mediocre nation with fantastic player but cannot perform. These guys disgrace the EPL. The only standout players for England have been Sterling, Sturridge, Cahill's been decent and not many more. Where are these overrated youngsters like Barkley,Lallana,Wilshere? Nowhere cos they're overrated by English media and crap

I don't know which match you were watching. England didn't sit back against Italy or Uruguay. Gerrard himself echoed this after the match when he said both defeats could be blamed on inexperience because we keep attacking at 1-1 and forgot to close the shops. Uruguay defence was fragile, Roy Hogson surprised many in this world cup. He fielded attacking minded teams out there. But of course he's going to get crucified because we lost both matches through a school-boy defending errors. England actually played well in both matches but Italy was lethal, we weren't. We frittered our chances away. Uruguay didn't have that many chances. But the two good ones they had was put away by Suarez. If you look at Rooney chances, he could have had a hattrick.

Eliasnoob im not hating chelsea cahill couldve done better vs both suarez and balotelli's header. Also woolwich its england's fault for going straight to attack.Where were their so called world class players and promising youngsters? At club level they're excellent at country level they are attrocious.

poor pigface Rooney:-)English players are simply overrated, overpaid, mediocre players. Nothing more.They always fail in big tournaments as they have no character, no worldclass players.(very few of them are, but they were never able to prove it on international level...)Congrats to Uruguay, Suarez played with passion despite he was not fully fit, simply top class.And it would be nonsense if they could go thru with 2 losses.

Roy Hodgson should have done everything to get Terry back out of retirement, he has always been England's best centre back.. It's a shame we didn't at least get a point out of the two games which would have been deserved, maybe with a little help from Italy we can still qualify
