i think the referee are envy with cole's and gibson's shoes.. so that he gave them both red card..
If cole and gibson playing w/out shoes, maybe the referee didnt give them red..
poor referee.. spoil the good game..
nice goals by Everton, unlucky that first goal was ruled out I think that was a little harsh...fair play to the ref, can't argue with both red cards. at least Everton won cleanly unlike Man $hitty with Gareth Barry's pogo stick header over the defender! SHAMEFUL!!
If people actually think those two are red cards, they don't understand football. Carlton's eyes were on the ball, he even got a touch to the ball. Rooney's feet were higher in the air when he scored the goal of the season against Man City a few years ago. Those arguing the ref was 'fair', should Rooney have been sent off for that?

Rooney's foot was not near anybody and he hit the ball, so no, he should not have.
Shawn, watch Rooney's goal again, his foot is about five inches from the Man City player behind him. your argument is as inconsistent as the rest on here. If it results in a great goal, it's not only not a foul it is a fantastic piece of skill. If having your foot high means you touch another player it's a sending off. What if you score from an overhead kick but hit a player in your follow-through?

The first should have counted, can't see any foul threre. And Cole and Gibson were trying to reach the ball, maybe you can give them a yellow but never a straight red.
I agree the Osman goal should have counted mate. What's laughable is those on here calling him a 'fair' or 'consistent' ref. Anichebe caught Collins with a high foot in the first half, wasn't even a free-kick.
It was a good honest game of football spoilt by the referee. Just look at Phil Neville and the other Everton players reactions to Cole's sending off, none of them could believe it.
