Match facts

Bayern Munich

  • Five-time winners Bayern are attempting to reach their 11th final.
  • Bayern have recovered from an away first-leg defeat to win the tie on ten occasions, most recently against Porto in the quarter-finals; they have suffered 11 defeats, including eight in the last 11 contests.
  • Bayern were confirmed as Bundesliga champions with four games to spare on 26 April, their third consecutive German title. However, they have not picked up a Bundesliga point since, and lost 1-0 at home against FC Augsburg on Saturday.
  • German champions have not scored in 361 minutes in all competitions – their longest barren run in 17 years and have not won in four competitive games.
  • Robben will miss the rest of the season with a torn calf suffered against Dortmund on 28 April.

Barcelona

  • Barcelona are on the brink of their eighth European Cup final having eventually worn down Bayern München in the first leg of their semi-final.
  • Barcelona are now looking for their first win in Munich, where Bayern have won all five home games en route to the semi-finals.
  • Barca have won 38 of their last 42 games in all competitions, and 17 of their past 18 following a 2-0 success against Real Sociedad on Saturday.
  • If Xavi features he will become the first player to make 150 UEFA Champions League appearances. Real Madrid CF's Iker Casillas also goes into the second legs on 149.
  • Messi made his 100th appearance in UEFA competition during the first leg; he has 78 goals.

Predictions

Scoring three goals is difficult enough, shutting down the most potent attacking trio in the world is quite another problem.

One goal for Barcelona would leave Bayern Munich needing five, expect them to attack from the start, but it's very difficult to see how Bayern will reverse the first leg defeat.

Final Score – 1 : 2

Dante only plays light opponent, not strong opponent like Barca. Footyroom, please learn from that...

MSN: You are wrong about your submission. Messi and all key players were there in the first Leg, when Bayern beat Barca by 4:0. It was the second leg that Messi was not available.Barca will qualify, to face their arch rival REAL MADRID.

If Barcelona will face Juventus in the final, Suarez will face Evra & Chiellini at the same time.

impossible to win against barca without robben, ribery and alaba. We are missing our two best players. if barca played without messi in the first leg, would they win by 3? that's only one player. now imagine them not having messi, suarez and dani alves.

That's a very valid point. But remember 2 years ago when you raped us Messi was injured even though he was playing. Not an excuse of any sort though.

MSN 9 years ago
Oh really? Remember on 2013 when Messi was injured, Busquets had a back injury, SONG had to play for him, Adriano and Bartra were also playing, Xavi and Iniesta came on very low form, our manager TITO was battling with CANCER, it was Jordi Roura, the assistant manager who had to be there. Considering all of this, I think you should keep quiet about not having those players, especially when you have players like Thomas Muller and Mario Goetze replacing them.

msn, have paid some attention to what I wrote? we don't have our best players and that might be the reason why we lost by that much. you lost in 2013 and the reason might be that you weren't in your best conditions neither. your point actually supports mine. gotze and muller replacing robben and ribery? wtf man. @ramaboy10, it's unfortunate that we meet each other at such condition. if both squads are injury free we wouldn't see a 3-4 goals difference match instead it would be real tight.
