I am happy and relieved England won their opening game of the World Cup. I noticed Kane was brought down twice in the box and the ref gave nothing. Smh. I noticed when Loftus-Cheek and Rashford came on, England took control of the game again. England deserve to win this game. Congrats to Harry Kane for those two goals especially in the last minute.

I just watxhed the highlights and and the penalty, the way the ball came off Sassi's boot and off the goalie glove before going in I can only conclude that it should have been a Harry Kane goal. #IClaimAll

We have failed so many times, we're immune to it now haha. But Look at Argentina? We went out to Iceland, but for Argentina to draw to them with that stacked team (Messi alone)? Brazil draw to Switzerland after being the favourites? Mexico beating the World champions, Belgium struggled vs panama till a great second half of football. France only just getting by vs Australia? England did the exact same vs Tunisia, we only just got by (regardless of the horrendous ref). It shows this tournament is a lot different than other international comps. But seeing other teams doing similar things when expected to do the opposite is an eye opener and confidence boost for us. You'd be surprised what my happen this tournament.

Also to add to that, my mate said the same thing as I did... we played average, but a win is a win, and at this level and this comp where you barely play any games in this comp, a win is all you need, regardless of how it's won. All it takes is for one team to commit to a stupid foul in the box for a penalty, or a moment of amazing individual class out of no where to win the whole WC. England are always that team to fight on the very edge (usually lose in the end) but it can always go in our favour vs a big team.

Referees at this world cup are giving far too many penalties when they shouldn't... And it's ridiculous how Kane being pulled over is just ignored by this failure of a ref...

I think it's due to VAR. Refs are more likely to give penalty and assume VAR will bail them out if it was a clear mistake. Since the VAR do not want to make refs look bad, they will often stick with the decision unless it's blatantly wrong. Hence why we'll keep seeing more penalties.

Winning goal at 90 mins boost up winning mentality for England, through the tournament.

Dele should start up front and Loftus-Cheek on midfield next match. Sterling is pure garbage.

Really wished they drawn this game. A different team from the first half. Just lucky that Harry Kane was at the right place to head it in.

Brainless Walker nearly cost England 2 points but they managed to win in the end and deservedly so. Tunisian players were dirty bastards for the whole game and got what they deserved. I said it before the tournament and want to repeat it :

After years of dissappointment, a much better world cup campaign awaiting the Three Lions methinks...
