What's with all the England hate? They never tried to lose, instead rested key players and tried to avoid suspensions form double yellow cards because they had already qualified and there was little to gain by going all out for a win.

Belgium had exactly the same attitude, in fact they made more changes to their first team.

If (majority of) English ppl continue to be sheeple & blindly believe the (HUGE) lies their ministry of propaganda (BBC) feeds them with, on a daily basis (way b4 WC began), and don't go in massive numbers in Russia to support their team (as they do on each WC) - they'll only get a certificate to be BIGGEST IDIOTS on the planet! This WC could easily turn out to be one of the most successful in their history in a long time (at least since Italia '90) and we won't see more than 4-5K English on the stadiums?! What a shame! The anti-Russian propaganda which happens in their country is simply disgraceful.
I just came back from Russia & can HONESTLY tell you that one of my friends constantly wore English jersey all the time, many ppl mistook (all of us) for English & WE HAD 0 PROBLEMS! ZERO!

By all means there haven't been many problems this WC, but many people felt afraid to come after the violence from Russian Ultras in Euro16. Even Danny Rose didn't feel safe enough to let his family come to watch him.

It's not the English peoples fault though is it? People always fall for fear based control like mainstream media, conspiracy theories and religious institutions etc.

England has no top class players. The first 3 tropies in G division did not prove any impressive
performance and tactics. Team will knock out easily whenever pressure and stress loading on the coming
highly competitive games. Let's wait and see..........

I thought Senegal outplayed Colombia in their game, but of all the top performances by any team in any given game, I thought Colombia showed the best soccer against Poland. So, I don't know which Colombia will show up against England, but if it's the one that beat Poland, England has no chance.

columbia is not gonna be easy, so does sweden/swiss in quarters or spain/croatia in semis if england reach there , but with this loss, we get one day more resting time than belgium, and also avoiding same bracket with brazil france argentina portugal uruguay.

Did England purposely lost this match against Belgium just so they can be second and face off against Columbia. I know from experience Colombia is not going to be easy

No game is gonna be easy during the knockout stages. If you wanna win you have to beat the best anyway. England vs Colombia will be a good game. I think England might edge it.

The only game that is easier on the road to final for England is the quarter final, if all favorites win their games. But playing to get a supposedly easier way is a bit lame.

Other idea : FIFA should decide the knockout stage by drowing from two hats ( the hat of the firsts and the hat of the seconds)
In order to do so, all players should have 5 more day of physical recovery.
At least all the teams would really try to win the third match.

What do you think ?

Not bad, but I think dragging the World Cup longer than it should is going to slow down a lot of momentum. This can disinterest fans, and there won't be any prestige behind the top two ranks in every group in the first place.

Did you read the whole comment? First place would go in one hat, 2nd in the other, so yeah you would still play a second placed team so there is a point to play to be first.

By finishing second, England avoid the top half of the draw which includes Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, Portugal, France and Mexico. Pending they overcame Japan where Belgium are currently sitting.

Except Belgium doesn't have to play against France Argentina Portugal Uruguay Brazil & Mexico but only against 2 of those teams. Probably Brazil and then France
