Match facts

Liverpool

  • Liverpool have conceded just four goals in their last 13 Premier League home games (W7 D6 L0), keeping nine clean sheets in that time.
  • The Reds haven’t won four Premier League games in a row since December 2016 – the fourth game of which was a home win against Manchester City.
  • No opposing manager has beaten Pep Guardiola more often than Jurgen Klopp in all competitions (4, level with Jose Mourinho).
  • Since Klopp took charge of Liverpool in October 2015, the Reds have won more points in Premier League games between the ‘big six’ than any other side (39).

Manchester City

  • City emerged 5-0 victors when Liverpool visited the Etihad Stadium in September.
  • There is no doubt that a winning mentality has developed at Manchester City and that was shown in a hard fought 2-1 win over Bristol City in the League Cup Semi Final First Leg during the week.
  • Vincent Company could potentially return this weekend. Benjamin Mendy and Gabriel Jesus are both long-term injury issues.

Predictions

The teams should match up well enough to produce the chances to get close to four goals shared out and the 2-2 draw looks a real player in this one.

cutinho's departure cudnt have come at a better time for city! coz this was one game they were dreading! liv at home are a pretty formidable side even with all the defensive lapses! but without cutinho they are a tad bit weaker. draw looks a likely outcome but i wudnt write off city's chances for a win, given the kind of gaping hole defense liv has!

If Henderson is on the bench & Lovren replaces Firmino up top. Liverpool will undoubtedly win this match.
