I really don't understand why people making fun of Ronaldo scoring penalties..should he miss em? lol plus penalties decide big games..and its part of the game..not to mention that first penalty it was him who made it happen with nice cut...

Plus if penalties were easy..why Messi keeps missing them :)

having said that..I believe Messi is more talented that Ronaldo

I dont agree with disregarding CR goals because they are pens. So what, pens are goals and they are hard earned.

There's a saying where I come from about players who totally lack talent and the only thing they do is hit the ball as hard as they can with their big toe. It's called "playing with a concrete boot". This what Penaldo is - all he does is hit the ball with the concrete boot as hard as he can and hopes for the best. Have you ever seen him play a curved ball? He can't even do that simple technique every kid on the street knows how to do. He is both lucky and unfortunate to play in this era. Lucky, because back in the days when there were 4-5 contenders for the Ballon every year, he couldn't have been in the top 200. Unfortunate, because the only time his name is mentioned is when someone talks about Messi...

Champions League 2017/18 - 9 goals in 6 games
Non penalty goals - 8

Champions League + La Liga = 17 goals in 22 games, in total this season 26 games, 20 goals.

Last season - 46 games, 42 goals...

He is better with his headers, weaker foot, long distance shots, positioning, off ball movement, shot power...and scoring penalties.

So you're saying in total Messi has 26 goals in 31 games while Ronaldo has 20 goals in 26 games, if he wasn't banned for 5 games you would cry even more just like you did during the Spanish Super Cup ( Where Messi could only score a penalty LOL ) :D
-8
SoccerBoss 6 years ago
Barcelona, Russia 34 804
Listen up you ignorant buffoon. Messi: 26/31 = .84 goals per match. Ronaldo: 20/26 = .77 goals per match (And at least 1/4 are penalties).
1
Golazo111 6 years ago
Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607
And yet Messi in harder games ( Champions league ), couldn't score close to 70% of the time :D Keep going we both know the only reason why Ronaldo hasn't scored more in La Liga is because he was banned the first 5 games...
-2
SoccerBoss 6 years ago
Barcelona, Russia 34 804
Messi couldn’t score in hard games because well, their hard. He’s more of a playmaker and yet he still scores more. Your worshipping Ronaldo after half of his champions league goals came from scoring against Apoel of all teams. Given Madrid’s current state though, I would classify Apoel as a hard team for Madrid to beat. Also now that Madrid have a decent opponent for once in the Champions league, we shall see how Ronaldo will do.
1
Golazo111 6 years ago
Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607
He scored more because he played more, the more games you play you have more chances to score, Ronaldo had a 5 match ban and missed easy fixtures while at the same time scoring vs Dortmund, APOEL and so on, keep going!
-2
SoccerBoss 6 years ago
Barcelona, Russia 34 804
Idiot! Did you not see the goal per match ratio I showed you? Messi has a higher scoring rate than Ronaldo, it doesn’t matter whether or not one of them played more or less. It’s a ratio. BTW, are Leganes and Girona considered hard? Or Betis? How do you explain those losses. Ronaldo was playing, and their “easy” teams, so if Ronaldo can win against hard teams then he definitely can beat easy ones, right?

And one more thing why Ronaldo can't be compared with Messi is the football not a paper game. Messi's situation made him to become a creator of the game, after Barca midfield line stopped creating, however he didn't stopped scoring. Real Madrids creators are Kroos, Modrić, Isco even Marcelo and Carvahal but not Ronaldo who is not realising 90% chances made by guys mentioned above. So try to calculate how much does he and whole his picture as a man is giving to the team. 10%? sometimes its even less

Messi has a better ratio with more games played, in CL Ronaldo has 9 goals in 6 games while Messi has 3 goals in 6 games, thats the only place where they had equal amount of games and Ronaldo outscored Messi once again and broke the CL record of group stage, being 32 years old :D

real madrid have better chance to win agaisnt PSG, they are slow starter, of course they will unlikely to win la liga and already out of copa del rey, but PSG have average midfielder except Veratti, against Casemiro Kroos and Modric ? after all its surprise to see Barca winning at Anotea and Madrid winning at Mestalla.

I don't think it's about him scoring the penalties, more about the big percentage of his total that come from them. Let's face it, if we look at difficulty, you can't compare a penalty with a field goal.

And to get your facts straight and because you dragged him into this, Messi has missed less penalties in La Liga than Ronaldo.
5
Golazo111 6 years ago
Chelsea, Mexico 70 2607
Ronaldo scored 107 goals from penalties, missed 23 shots, Messi scored 81 goals from penalties and missed 24 shots, in total...If Messi was better he would have scored more than Ronaldo from penalties but he missed, Ronaldo scored 16% of his goals from penalties while Messi has scored 13% of his goals from penalties, it's not like Messi isn't shooting them he just lacks the killer instinct.

Sure Messi gave "easy penalties" to his teammates...he is 2 years younger and yet if he didn't miss his penalties he would have had 100 goals from penalties already.

@Golazo111
I didn't say Messi is better than Ronaldo in taking penalties, honestly, I don't give a damn. For me, scoring penalties is no adequate ground to compare or judge the quality of a player. The fact that it apparently is for you, tells me a lot about your football reasoning.
And further,
"he (Messi) just lacks the killer instinct" --> I'm out

I have seen many great players choking when having that responsibility, Messi is one of them.

if you watch their entire career, you know what I meant by 'easy penalty'. when your team is on lead and you as first penalty taker let your teammate to execute because he is having a bad day or so.

I am not saying that Messi is a better penalty taker than Ronaldo. but if you conclude the opposite, even saying he is better than messi, hmmh
2

ah yes, if you mean by killer instinct is shoot shoot and shoot like what ronaldo does when he gets the ball then I absolutely agree :)

When it comes to penalties Ronaldo is better than Messi. This shouldn't even be a discussion. Putting in irrelevant perspectives like some do is just ridiculous. A penalty is a penalty and it needs to be scored, no matter what the circumstances. Just take it that Ronaldo is better here, as Messi is better in many other aspects of the game. Sheesh the fanboys are so blind sometimes.

Messi missed 24 out of 81 and ronaldo missed 23 out of 107

Its a good thing Marcelo and Kroos scored those to world class goals. Honestly felt that Valencia was the better team between the two tonight. Created far more chances but were very awful and wasteful on front of the net. Valencia only have themselves to blame, those two penalties, we penalties no question. Ref was horrible tonight as well.

Well you're clearly the stupid one here. I watched every single minute of the match. The referee was excellent for the most part. He was especially excellent at letting advantage play when there were fouls committed by Real Madrid. At a moment, Real committed a foul but he played advantage for Valencia and when he saw Valencia were going to lose the ball, he immediately pulled it back for the foul. This was great refereeing. Oh by the way, Parejo committed 3 very bookable fouls in this match, even the commentators were saying he should have been off. But hey, keep crying. Hehe
