You could have watched both games as they were live at different times.

Both teams still in 2nd gear. Both will get better as the season goes on and the World Cup players regain fitness. Both teams made sloppy mistakes at the back. City still not 100% but still looked deadly. Arsenal are already looking better than the past few years under Wenger.

Guendouzi looked way out of his depth.

City is a tough first opponent and when Granit Xhaka is playing for you, it's even tougher. I wouldn't mind never seeing him on my bench again. Guendouzi looked great, and when Lacazette came on he provided a spark, he needs to start. Most importantly it's nice to see the end of the Arsene Wanker era and the start of a new one.

Pep made City the English Barcelona. Simple as that.

good game from both teams... Man City was however the better team when it came to decisive moments.

Positives... our midfield is strong but they made mistakes... which happens... lacazette and auba should start... and maybe play either mkhi or Ozil as a false 9 or just behind the strikers for more impact....
negatives... like always a slow defense... you can’t expect them to match the likes of aguero, sane, Jesus, debruyne etc. .... Cech and Leno are defensive goalkeepers at best and can’t play it out from the back and especially not with those nervy center halves...

Boy oh boy bellerin has declined so much...

All in all... fresh start... let’s see how things go from here.

Boy oh boy bellerin has declined so much... he might have played decently... but his agility and pace, acceleration has decreased ridiculously... can’t even keep up...

Bellerin's agility pace and acceleration is no different from last season or the one before. That makes absolutely no sense whatsoever

Agreed, shouldn't have put it that way! what I meant was, he is not playing with the same desire as he used to when he was promoted to the first team. Hopefully, he improves henceforth under Emery.

Bellerin is one if the worst 1 on 1 defenders I've ever seen. Without pace idk if he'd be a professional footballer

They weren't even that bad. Looked dangerous a lot especially after Laca came on. Just tried to play out of the back to much, but they can beat most other teams in the PL if they can play like that.

Probably should've waited a few more games before making that post. Appreciate the humour though

Manchester City weren't very good and still managed to beat Arsenal. Arsenal needs to work on their defense and must finish their chances.

Well, I dont understand one thing. Arsenal lost Walcott, Sanchez, Oxlade -> their best RW and LW. They brought really no one to replace them. Miki best position is behind striker, Auba is striker not LW. They have noone to provide that wide option in counter attacks or just quick attacks. Bellerin can't always be there, same with whoever plays on LB/LWB position. It's pushing Laca and Auba to play wide leaving empty space in a box. Arsenal played with 5 CM (CDM, CAM, CM) today. Not ideal if u ask me.

Yep. We need proper wingers. Miki and Ozil are being wasted on the wings.

@serans yeah it's not ideal, we need some sort of width. Welbeck can play on the left and Iwobi can too, but I doubt they will get much game time. They need chances though. However, Mandzukic is doing good at LW, so I guess only one natural winger is very needed, as supposed to 2.
