Jose needs to give Martial a chance despite his pre-season dilemma. If not, he will move to another club and start playing amazing there. Look at salah, lukaku, de bryne, etc.

I hate seeing man utd play this boring counterattacking football.

Who voted Leicester average? they played their hearts out! they deserved at least 1 point from this match I only continued watching because of how badly they wanted to score but it's difficult when the whole team is defending. Mourinho got a lucky pen at the beginning of the match and United barely had the ball for the rest of the match, even the second goal was accidental, Shaw didn't even mean that, but a nice finish too. The best team lost tonight. Note: No hate towards United, just was watching the match as a neutral.

I think you only recognize one style of playing in football which is attack attack attack. We played good defensive football in first half after getting early goal, in second half Jose told players to be more aggressive and they did. We had more possesion and we get another goal. I dont see nothing lucky or bad in that. Leicester played well, should be more clinical, as should we.

Pereira looks really comfortable playing at that position... hoping to see more of him this season... make Matic fight for the position.
Im so fucking happy for Shaw... even without the goal he did really well today.
Now just need Martial to get playing time he needs.... just put Sanchez in right wing Mourinho.

You play too much fifa kid. Sanchez can NEVER play right wing because he is right footed and cuts inside on his right foot. Ever noticed most top clubs play left footed players on the right wing e.g robben, bale, dembele, Douglas costa , salah, Bernard Silva etc??? BECAUSE THEY CAN CUT INSIDE TO SHOOT, PASS OR CROSS

And same applies to left wingers who are right footed e.g Sanchez, Ronaldo, neymar, ribery, coman, martial, rashford, reus, coutinho etc?

SergioSR4 is the one playing too much fifa if he thinks all right footed wingers have to play on the left and that they always have to cut in. He's just ignored mbappe, cuadrado, willian, quaresma, muller, mkhitaryan, valencia (when he used to play farther up front). Some of sanchez's best performances for united so far have come when he played on the right wing, such as Man U's comeback against city. If SergioSR4 thinks that players need to cut in every single time then he must always lose on fifa as well.

LMAO most of the players you mentioned are converted players playing at RW. mbappe was a natural striker back at Monaco but shifted to rw because Cavaniis striker, willian was a cam first at Chelsea, Muller was never a right winger because his lack of pace but because robben is getting old and injury prone he filled in right midfield, mkhitaryan was also a cam same with quaresma. Only player I agree is cuadrado but that's becaude his shooting sucks on his stronger foot anyways. So get your facts right before moaning

no way mourinho gonna put Sanchez on right wing, Martial style just doesnt suit mourinho style who want his winger to defend like fullbacks in some situation, Martial style is like thierry henry style, did u ever see henry playing like left back ?

it doesnt matter if Sanchez was right footed or left, mourinho play sanchez not because he want sanchez to cut inside and shoot, he want sanchez to defend like left back, Martial cant defend like that, i can say mourinho style is safe style, cut inside is somehow risky from counter attack, plus fullbacks must overlap to give space for winger to cut inside, mourinho want his full backs to stay back.... martial cant realy shine on the team that play safe football.

Very impressive match from Luke Shaw. Weve barely had a week to practice with the entire squad and that was an impressive result considering. Looking forward to this season ggmu

yep, he was dreadful... his passes and crosses were mostly bad-timing or not good enough. I hope he bounce back soon. I thought Shaw had a great game too

Perfect Jose style game. If we score first we always seem to win games, cause of Jose tactics. I dont mind getting early goal, sitting back and having chances from counter attacks.

I would like to remind every future hater, saying United plays boring football and their games are boring: there is always two teams playing. Leicester had 3 chances while having good amount of possesion. We are just very good in def.

MOTM is Mata for me, this guy dont have bad passes, great vision to play on Luke Shaw.

And if we're able to consistently perform like this with that lineup, (starting rashford, darmian, pereira(good but not yet as good as matic), we'd do very well once we have dalot fit, valencia back, matic recovered, and lukaku fit to start up front.

idk what to say now lol. Prob a good start for us, not a great game, but decent performance. Lukaku missed a real chance, and Sanchez has been wasteful, but they both showed fantastic spirit (aka fighting for the ball). Pogba showed how good he is today, classy in midfields. The Fred-Pereira combo works very well, as I am really looking forward to it. Shaw had a great game, and Baily and Lindelof are good in the back.

The last few minutes are a bit sloppy when the players lost their concentration and it resulted in a goal. All in all, a good start and hopefully ManU can build up from this .

Looking for Arsenal vs ManC in the weekend.

I always like 4-3-3 or at least 4-4-2 diamond.
The 4-2-3-1 (Mou favourite) is particular good for counterattacking and defend, but we don't need it, we will adopt (hopefully) more aggressive soccer this season.

Also, I thought we have man-mark pretty good in this game, but I am looking more for the zonal defense. We are a bit lacking in that sense (2vs1 against Baily in the final few minutes resulting in a goal conceding).

And here we go again.. Score sit back and defend... Score sit back and defend.
A win and 3 points.. Can't ask for much.
