Son deserves the red card for his reaction. But Lerma is a faking bitch for how he fell down. Son just pushed him over. He pushed him on his back, Lerma didn't hit anything when he fell over, and he's holding the back of his head like his been punched. Shit like that gives the sport a bad name. Not saying that what Son did is okay by any stretch, but Lerma can eat a dick for the play acting.

This is the worst top 4 race I have seen in my life. The only club that deserves top 4 is Wolves. Anyway saying that, Thank you Bournemouth.

As far as Son's red card was concerned, i'd say it was a bit too harsh. He was just shoving Lerma. There was no fist nor kick. The ref could have simply calmed down the situation. Alas! Lerma over reacted. Also, had Lerma stood up, the outcome might have been different, unless the ref is dumb and inexperienced

best scenario for whom? You? Just Arsenal and Chelsea fans? The best possible scenario is actually for Spurs or United finishing in Top 4, and then whichever of Arsenal or Chelsea NOT in Top 4 to win the Europa League, so England has 5 clubs in next season's CL group stage. But I want Frankfurt to win Europa, anyway, ha

No, the best and probable scenario would be:
3. Chelsea
4. MU
5. Tottenham
6. Arsenal

Tottenham winning the CL, Arsenal winning EL.

That would be 6 PL teams in the CL next season!

Surely, a team who has lost 13 games doesnt deserve top 4. That would be embarrassing for the premierleague

That shouldnt be a red card but at least bottlenham lose an important player for their final game. But Surely, a team who has lost 13 games doesnt deserve top 4. That is embarrassing

Uhhhhhhhhh it's happened before. The thing is, they've won a lot AND have only drawn one. The losses mean nothing if they end up in Top 4, because they will have won 23 or 24 matches.

It is CL knockout. In two legs not always the best teams wins. You have been in Spurs place yourselves before especially not being able to win domestic league nor beat Barcelona.

that's quite a different story, you also need luck to win la liga and Barca have had that, in many matches in which they were below par they ended up winning, not to mention the awful referees who even with VAR have made too many mistakes and almost none against Barca.. we could discuss this for quite a while

@Iker89 Not to take away from Madrid's truly amazing achievement of 4 CLs in 5 years (which I think hasn't been given enough kudos) but whoever wins the league deserves to win it. It's a 38 game competition. If the team who comes out on top at the end of all that can't be said to have deserved it, then what can be deemed a measure of merit?

As for refereeing decisions, every team benefits or suffers by them. Some go your way, others don't. It's just that fans will only choose to remember the ones that went against them.

Marcus2011 5 years ago
Chelsea FC, England 277 6501
La Liga referees equally favor Real and Barca but yes some years Barcelona gets those decisions more. Yet, point I am trying to make is that knockout games aren't often the best merit for team's quality. City is obviously best club in EPL and has the best team, yet they lost to Spurs.

@Iker89 , LOL. Dude, you can't be lucky in winning a league, you can be lucky in winning a cup (UCL, Copa Del Rey, FA cup...) but you can't be lucky in winning a league, league require consistency and doing well over the long term..so please cut the crap..Barcelona deserved it and they deserved dominating La Liga in the past 15 years.

Spurs fans now have to be praying for Brighton to miraculously pull a result out of their butts against Arsenal, and for Leicester to beat Chelsea on final matchday. And, oh, also Huddersfield or Cardiff to nip a result against United. A comedy the past 3 months have been for all 4 of these clubs.

This kind of late season Top 4 chase also shows how pathetic it is by UEFA to sell out to the top leagues for 4 auto group stage places. Seriously, how does the CL not give auto group stage spots to the winners of Dutch, Swiss, Austrian, and Greek leagues? Oh, well, we all know the answer.... ka ching....

Sure, money is the major factor but look at the teams in the closing stages of the EL and CL. Bar Ajax, there are all from the top leagues so it figures. They've proven their worth.

Of course, these league are as strong because of money so it's up to these other leagues you mention to find a way to compete...and that brings us back to money...

4 of the 8 teams in quarter finals were from England. They definitely deserved it this year. Anyways, they update each year. Last year, Liverpool had to play Bayer Leverkusen in order to qualify to the champions league group stages

colkurtz, exactly, it's very hard for the other leagues to catch up as each year so much more money is flowing in one direction.

I have a feeling Arsenal and Chelsea are going to make top 4. Spurs have Everton which will be a tough match without son also they have to play CL. We have to be top 3, I don't trust europa league if arsenal and Chelsea goes to final and arsenal wins then we will be safe. Also look at that fucking form holy fuck.

thanks for backing us up, mate. Lerma is a true bad boy, it was consistent for the full 90 minutes. Also two little head thrusts/head butts on Dele at 92:32 and 92:35. Dele thankfully didn't fall and flop and embellish. BUT imagine if it were the reverse and what Lerma would have done if Dele did that to him. He also leaned in to Sonny for an American football shove a bit before the red card, and flopped horrifically in the 2nd half on the tiniest of tiny shoulder to shoulder from Dele. I hope Davinson Sanchez smacks him up

definitely was a dick move by Lerma. He played quite dirty this game, but the reaction from Son was a textbook red card. As hard as it is, you should never let your emotions get the better of you like that.

Foyths red card - Yes, But Son's was too harsh. He reacted justly for the challenge, even though he is a professional football player, the players who kicked him played dirty.
