I hope Salah heals before the second leg. I was pretty pissed off last year with Ramos breaking his arm, I don't care if his return means our, although unlikely, elimination. Great player.

WTF was the referee doing in the first half? I usually like when ref lets the game without too many whistles, but he didn´t give like 4 yellow cards to Newcastle players and a clear penalty on Mane. And the fouls on Salah from Ritchie???

I feel kind of Sorry for Liverpool. They are playing a fantastic season. In any other League this performance would be sufficient to become champions. However, Man City in this season is simply amazing. The football they play is just sensational. I would argue that it is really the best team, that the world has ever seen. I believe they are even better then Barca 2008-2011. Bernardo Silva, Sterling, Sane, de Bruyne and Aguero are definitely world class players but City doesn't have Xavi, Iniesta and Messi who played on a level that was beyond good and evil. And still they are playing footbal like from another star. Deserved Champions !

Though a man utd fan, I will be more happier if lvp wins the league instead of man city considering where lvp is coming from. Two of their players scoring 20 goals apiece and one receiving the player of the year award. I think this is their season.

who saw van dijk commanding for shaqiri to take the free kick instead of TTA..? initially shaqiri was not even there..but after demand from van dijk he the one take it..good captaincy criteria..shaqiri is a better choice in term of inswinger free kick..

Shouldn't have been a freekick in the first place - have to revert to cheating again.....

The Question is: Can the foxes pull at least a Draw at the Ethihad ????? I seriously doubt it with City's form . as i said last week, LFC to finish 2nd in the title and for Tuesday, we don't have our top players let alone turn a 3 down deficit. Against Barca sadly, we are playing against the team and Messi

it is going to be hard for the foxes to beat man city , because there is a 5 million pounds reward for the foxes incase Riyad mahrez could win the EPL with man city.that was part of the deal.let us hope and see how the foxes will perform.

Atsu kind of helped Liverpool by scoring the first goal if he didn't it would've been a penalty and a red card against Liverpool.

Penalty and Red card combo has been taken away from the laws..
From our case, the maximum extent of the punishment is a penalty kick + a yellow card :)

I believe handballs and holding offences inside the box can still receive red cards. The triple punishment avoidance was for genuine attempts at the ball.

The very difficult period for Liverpool during the season because they struggles and fight in the premier league and UCL ...... Jurgen klupp should rotate players to protect stars of the team from injuries and why chamberlain does not participate ....... Lovern is better than matip

Yea i rather see Liverpool win than City. Plus, it would piss off both manchester club fans :) I have no beef with the north, but ones in London.

Then you should say "I'm supporting you!" instead of "we", cause it will be a cold day in hell when I start supporting the scousers.

Alexander-Arnold's handball and Fabinho's dive. Can't believe Andre Marriner is still in the Premier League. He is always helping "big teams" success.

Alexander Arnold handball interference didn't cause Newcastle not to score so it's irrelevant and Fabinho free-kick may have been soft but the ref also didn't give decisions when Liverpool where fouled so I'd say it's 50-50 but he wasn't good overall.

"Handball interference didn't cause Newcastle not to score"

That doesn't mean he shouldn't be sent off. The rule you're talking about is advantage rule, but the ref has to go back and give the appropriate punishment, which in this case is denying a clear goalscoring opportunity = red card.

In case you didn't watch the match, the ref clearly didn't even signal there was a foul when TAA handled the ball. The free kick is contentious, but referees have to make contentious decisions all the time. But when someone handles the ball on the line, there's no contention about that.

The red card only occurs if the advantage is not converted to a goal which in this case it was converted to a goa. I agree with you on the ref going back and give the appropriate punishment which should've been a yellow card for the handball. TAA should only be punished for the handball not denying a goalscoring opportunity since the advantage is being played and converted to a goal.
