Now that the hype has gone down, can we agree that Alisson's save, while important, was straight at him and probably harder to Not save it rather than save it. Like cmon all these Liverpool fans acting like it was insane when it really wasn't. Just a very poor finish and a rather easy save.

Seriously Koulibaly what a defender!

Anyway bad luck Napoli. Allison was just fire. And VVD should have got red card that was nasty. He didnt retreat his legs after winning the ball. Kept it straight. could have been worse for Mertens. Still don't get how this was just a yellow lmao.

Agree. What a baller Koulibaly. Remember that name. Read correctly Salah movement until that one Salah moment that cost the game. Unlucky today. What a game. That Anfield for you

@Milanlamiavita

Really dude? You talking football and yet u dont know the facts really?
Ok lets put some damn sense in ur head.

Firs of all: Koulibally lost only one duel vs Salah and some luck was needed for Salah to score from such a position.

Second of all: Mario Rui was defending Salah before Salah got in advantage of coming in such a surprise position vs Koulibaly.

If u have watched the whole game you would have seen Koulibaly basically had Salah in his pocket! We can't deny Salah needed some luck too to score from such position. From that position every shot would have been blocked 90% of the time by the goalies. So pls gtfo!

damn sense? Football is won through seconds and moments. This isn't golf that's played over three days and the winner is the one with the lowest score over the three days. Football isn't the tour de france. It's decided in a second. He might've been incredible for the entire game but when it counted, he got pasted easily by Salah, who went on and scored. The greats turn up in big matches and perform for at times 120 minutes.

@Milanlamiavita.

wtf even is ur point and problem against Koulibaly xD

You wanna blame him for everything? That guy litteraly only lost 1 duel vs Salah. And all this was cuz Mario Rui just turned arround and let Salah get away in such a space and pace. AND still Koulibaly managed to put Salah in a hard position to score. You really dont get how hard it is to score from such position. You know Salah is left footed too? and he had to hit with his right? DUDE u make no sense trying to make Koulibaly look bad. I bet u Salah will tell you how hard it is playing against him. Seriously have u seen the match? Koulibaly had him in his pocket entire game!

I'm not making anyone look bad. That one duel you speak off as if meaningless resulted in a goal. A goal that knocked Napoli out of the competition. He did jack shit...pushing Salah into a difficult position. Reminded me of Messi leaving Boateng on his backside. Ultimately, Ospina could've done better by closing his legs, but the lanky plank in front of him didn't exactly help. Champions...great defenders turn up at the right moments to make decisive tackles. Koulibaly was also poor vs Man city last season during the two games, which Napoli lost both. Good defender? Yes. A champion? No.

Nobody cares about the rest of the game and who was in who's pocket. A keeper can make 10 saves. But the moment he makes a mistake, he's judged by that mistake.

I'm fully accustomed now as to how the news outlets create mythical creatures to sensationalise. He puts in a good performance, the next day, the usual outlets mainly from the UK begin to link him with every club under the sun...link him with Man Utd and next thing you know, every little baby who's been watching football since yesterday suddenly goes...ahhhh yes!!! Koulibaly...never seen him play but he's world class and because he's linked to man utd, he must be a genius. Too much bullshit has been spun to fall for it. When he's a real champion, we'll naturally recognise him. But he isn't as it stands.

Bustese Milano City, Italy 4 3418
Firstly. I'm not your 'bro'. Only plebs use such a word.

Secondly. Instead of trying to throw cheap and pointless insults / comments, make a meaningful statement.

Oliver Kahn was the best goalkeeper at the 2002 world cup. An absolute giant for Bayern Muenchen and Germany. He was imperious throughout the entire tournament up until...he fumbled a really weak shot from Rivaldo, which resulted in Ronaldo scoring and killing the game. Regardless of all the imperious saves throughout that tournament, when it counted, he was found wanting.

Football and football greats are made in critical moments. milliseconds.

And why did Kahn got wanted for that? Because stupid people like you are also part of this world. Besides all of that nobody can't deny Kahn is a legend just as much Koulibaly is an amazing defender. Now go get some help u retard.

A well deserved win and qualification to the next round but if Mane continues to miss opportunities like that we will not go far. let's hope he gets back to his world class level before february. we understand that he was injured against Burnley but without the WHOLE him we cannot hope for much.

Deserved win for Liverpool, they should have scored at least 3 goals.

Also Virgil was really lucky to only get a yellow and not to break Mertens leg.

When I saw it in real time, I was like: Come on, why are you falling so theatrically, van Dyk clearly got the ball. So I was pretty surprised when the ref whistled. But then I saw the slow motion. Man, what a nasty tackle. And for all those nitwits: It's NOT important whether he got the ball first. If you tackle this recklessly with your studs open and considerable force, it's yellow. AT LEAST! If he had pulled back the leg or at least not kept it extended, everything would be fine.
