lmao if there was any luck here then it would've been the treatment Hoffenheim were getting from this disaster of a ref. Yes our defence was shaky but they were playing 10-0-0 lmao Pep very obviously wanted to put the ref on blast after the game but knowing UEFA they'd just ban him again for speaking the truth

That’s absolutely no doubt a PENALTY from Sane. Even the commentator said it’s ridiculous for the referee not giving the penalty for city. Bad bad decision from the referee. UCL is superly needed VAR, Come on how can such a big European football competition without VAR.

Pep was sweating like hell. He knew that they were out if they lost

For the possible Pen. The ref gives a goal kick. Therefore he thinks the keeper has not touched the ball. There is no indication that the ball hits the keeper then comes off sane for a goal kick. So that would mean that Sane took a dive, so yellow card for Sane. But no. If the ref gave a corner then maybe you could forgive him. Just shit reffing.

For some reason I like this.
Edit: Seferovic made it even better, lol.

Also, it's crazy how the team is like 20% worse without Kev. We're still very good, but all these games show just how much we miss him. Look very shaky at times and worried we're going to get sliced open by pool with defence like today

If you've watched all games of City closely with attention you'd see that Gundogan doesn't bring anything substantial to the table, he is a backpass merchant and doesn't take any risks whatsoever which is an absolute no-go for a player of his position. He is just there to pass the ball around. Foden on the other hand is very energetic, can pass and analyizes the situation around him and doesn't have any fear to do the thing he is supposed to do given the situation he finds himself in and the same applies to Bernardo. I really wanna see what Pep sees in Gundogan....

Compare value of Man City team to value of Hoffenheim in terms of squad. Differentiates by hundreds of millions... Hoffenheim held up pretty good for being the underdog.

No shame in parking the bus against a highly superior side. At the end of the day, every team wants to win.
