Germany plays like Bayern nowadays. Slow, safe, boring, predictable with no risk and lots of backward passes. It's painful to watch really.

I really admire this young French side. The level of depth is scary! Dembele, Dimitri Payet, Lemar, Umtiti etc. and not even Lacazette, Martial, Coman or Benzema is called to the national duty. Brazil also got some depth but France plays more like a well organized team, than Brazil, who mainly rely on individual brilliance. Belgium as well.

And I really miss Özil. Kroos and Kimmich can't create nothing, just pass all day without any end product.

dear Germany FA (DFB), pls dont take our manager Jurgen Klopp or offer him as replacement of J.Low, J. Low is good manager but german player are doing realy bad, germany had goal scoring problem.

Germany were actually dominating in the first half should’ve been 3-0 up, they are missing someone clinical up front. Sane wasteful in final third but if your a fan of Germany it was actually a really positive game cause low did change up his tactics.

Time for other nations to include different nationalities in their team. France done it twice 1998 and 2018. France should be thankful to african nations and France showed that unity in diversity works in sports not only in MNCs like US does it in companies.

Cough A national team can't have different nationalities ... Ok i know what u meant, but they are all french, born in france. (but Umtiti) . Why in usa it doesn't matter when ppl are black there, they are seen as american. It's same in France, history did that .

This is a joke of a comment. Those black players you imply are more French than your players who claim to be Catalans and voice their opinions when they can. You know, the players who were on your golden squad who won you a World Cup but also played friendly games with the so-called Catalan national team...

You are just jealous or racist or both.

I am not catalan nor Spanish. I am Barca fan. Btw I don’t like when they make mix sports and politics. In US most blacks considered as American nationals because they are part of 400 year old history so they are well integrated and formed new culture, but these french players were just one or two generations older and if you see many choose to play for their parents nation than the birth place.. Americans means black or white caucsian whereas others all are immigrants even though they are born citizens..

What you just said is even sillier.

So where do you draw the line? 1 or 2 generations not ok but 3 is? The only requirement is that you are a citizen of that nation and have not played for other national teams before at that level and it makes perfect sense.
I mean what difference does it make if the players are black or Africans in general? Are you saying that Africans, and by your implication, black people are better athletes and its an unfair advantage?

What`s next? Switzerland returning their players to Albania? Germany stops playing players of Polish and Turkish descent? Why not the blacks too?

I wont even dignify your ignorance about American blacks being "considered" nationals. So the blacks in France should go through a trial century before they should play?

Unbelievable.

Why Low keep playing Neur, he's out of form ,whereas TER STEGEN is the deserving NO.1. Germany have managed just 1 clean sheet in 11 matches 2018 (9%) and have had a weaker record for the last time 54 years ago, when they couldn’t manage a clean sheet in all 5 matches. Insurance.

Kimpembe needs to focus. He gives too many balls away and he was at fault on the last three goals France has received.

France really aren’t that good, they are not an attacking side and rely on their good defence. Then when openers are tired they will start attacking more, very boring to watch them, plus their last matches they have got lucky with set pieces, corners and penalties

They aren't way too good, think of the game against belgium. They weren't the side playing football, they were being beaten and for some reason the french are proud of having played park the bus during the world cup.

@DrRodro France had 19 attempts, Belgium had 9. Get over it. Belgium shamelessly parked the bus against Brazil but for that you turn a blind eye. I have never seen a more bitter fanbase than Belgium after that semi haha..makes it very sweet!

Bad referee, for both sides but more for Germany. I will still say that every time I see France play, they get constantly fouled by opposite team to stop counter attacks and it's annoying... Anyways, 15 games undefeated and counting

Everything you said correct except for back passes that belongs to one and only Barca. Possession and tiki taka outdated.

Possession and tiki taka aren't outdated at all. It just requires the right players with a higher level of physical, positional and technical sense to pull it off. Xavi and Iniesta weren't normal players. They were from another planet. Their work complemented by the likes of busquets, fantastic full backs and great forwards made tiki taka and possession based football effective. They literally made passing the ball into the goal a weekly thing. Possession based football fails when it isn't at the right temp and you lack killers in attack.

Tiki taka is great, if performed well. bayern passes seem unreasonable at times. Also movement without a ball is a bit shaky. As for this game in the first half, they should have scored but they didn't and that is a big problem. France looked a bit uninterested in the first 45, that was the reason for German dominance in my opinion.

That’s the point. Tiki taka and possession football deployed based on players within the team. So it is common sense for coaches to adapt tactics that suit players they have than imposing tiki taka on them. This is why Barca and Bayern failing in big games.

Congratulations to the referee. Superb...amazing....perfect....great...exemplary decision on that penalty. What a joke. And they don't want VAR. Hummels doesn't touch Matuidi who steps on Hummel's boots and falls over...penalty. Absolute joke. Commiserations, Germany.

To be fair Germany's penalty was pretty dodgy as well (would've just hit Pogba in the head if his arm wasn't there) so it sort of balances out. But yeah not great refereeing on the night overall. VAR pls

I do have a rep for being blunt. But let me say this. If you truly in your mind and heart BELIEVE that the penalty given to Germany was not a penalty, then you're either blind or know absolutely nothing about football. That is 100 percent a penalty. A team struggling is 1-1 away to the world champions...a 1-1 would've given them a massive lift. Instead, a shambolic decision has completely ruined their entire 94 minutes of effort.

I must say it also annoys me when the offensive player is the one making the contact and then looking for a penalty just because there was a contact. It's a problem that needs VAR.

They had a point taken away, I had 94 minutes taken away as a spectator that I'll never get back. You're watching a game and then a decision likes that takes away all authenticity from the result. In this day and age of technology, this is no longer acceptable. Just horrible.

Hummels takes Matuidi's arm, causing him to lose his balance and trip on the German's foot. It's a harsh penalty, but so was the 1st one. The referee was severe but coherent.
