Yesterday we saw a beast, today we see another one even more insane. And it wasnt even his best game, 2 goals, 2 assists... Im gonna be so sad the day these 2 hang their boots. Congratz Barca.

Fair play to Lyon today. Before the 3rd goal, they did a fantastic job in holding back Barca, and they had some good chances to, but once Messi, you know it is Messi ;), came in full power, the Lyon's defense just crashed too.

Messi in wonderland again, and he showed the world how good he is. Yesterday, we saw the phenomenal performance from Ronaldo, and today we had the reply from Messi. Pure class.

Olympic Lyon team given up from the first goal of Barcelona because they are weak team with small low price players who search for another big teams to transfers in ....... But how come Barcelona is the only Spanish team in this stage of UCL

First statement is rubbish. They were far more presentable than PSG at home against MUTD and they did not show signs of slowing down until maybe the 3rd goal.
Second statement: because the other ones were eliminated, isn't it obvious? Spanish sides have dominated European competition for years and this year it's the year of PL, simple.

honestly, Barca haven't played eye catching football with Valverde, his football is more suited to teams like Valencia, Villareal etc, they often just slow down and wait for a counter, if Lyon had converted their chance for the equaliser it could've been complicated

I agree with you Iker for once, though it's still Barcelona but a more pragmatic, less risk/creativity driven than what managers like Pep bring out.

Messi oh Messi what a genius. Piique is trying to become a forward in 2019 lol. Not a surprise. Ligue 1 is a bunch of college league. If Mbappe wants to be called one of the best players he needs to go to either La Liga, Premier League, Serie A or Bundesliga. Mbappe to Barcelona would be amazing.

Messiah [noun]: a leader regarded as the savior of a particular country, group, or cause.

After this round, i gotta say man city and liverpool seem to be the best teams out there. Liverpool all round is a complete team. Technically, tactically, mentally, forward midfield defense and even their bench

Man city is just too dominant but they havent been pressured yet.
Barca tonight got in trouble after lyon's goal and they became clueless till messi scored the 3rd goal, thats not a positive thing if they wanna win UCL.

Juve seems fine overall as well and they passed a chellenging test against ATM. But they can be out played by a team with good and energetic midfield

In this competition stats, experience, form and even a good result dosen't really matter. As we've seen for the past few years and specially this season. What matters is who are they best on the day, that's it.

Muppet commentator at Messi's panenka "Only him oh only him". No shit bro, what about Aguero's panenka yesterday and that of dozens of others over the years with a less impressive background? Disgusting sensationist media.

You weren't alone. My first reaction once I heard that statement was "What nonsense. What about Aguero??" But then I sat back, relaxed, took my time, and thought again ... "Only him can respond to Ronaldo in such style. Only him".

The teams for the final victory are probably one of these: 1.Liverpool 2.Juventus 3.Barcelona 4.Manchester City

The early pen changed the whole physiognomy of the game, it just sucks that one of the historical club gets an advantage like that when they dont need it. People make it seems like if there is another error in the other club favour, it equals out; but no, no understanding of how a game momentum goes. That early pen/goal forces Lyon to be more aggresive and forward to get the ball, they expose themselves more and consequence is shown just after with the second goal. Fact is, it is a complete different game if you dont have that pen, Suarez should even have a yellow for faking a foul, he is making the foul and getting a pen, like wtf the referees are seeing with the video, do they not know football? Another strange decision along the manchester psg one, respect the spirit of the game!!!

Lol what kind of biased analysis is this? They were going to score in the first half with or without that penalty, because of the many chances they created. To suggest that penalty changed the whole outcome of the entire game is quite silly and laughable to be honest. 5-1 was the score, they could have won a lot more.

another controversial penalty, once again in Barca's favour.. I know the final score is big, but the game was 0-0 at the time, who knows how the game would change, also Lyon was very much in the game until Barca scored the 3rd goal from a counter attack

If Barca didn't get that pen they wouldn't have lowered the tempo of the game and perhaps would score more goals. But I agree that was a bs call just as the foul for lenglet was not called on Lyon's goal.

Looks like it's just how things are. When the day comes that actual VAR gets implemented to the level that no diving is ever allowed or any play acting... well that day fooball will be back to it's most beautiful days.

Messi was fouled but didnt ask for a pen a bit later, and Lyon goal looked a bit like a foul, pushed on Lenglet so its levelled out. So conspiracy needed

No one can contest Barça > Lyon. But here is another year in which Barça have the help of the referee, the penalty on Suarez is a scandal, every year he dives in the same way, he crushes Denayer's foot and gets a penalty. Starting the game in this way was a bad thing for fair play and Lyon.

It was a soft pen indeed, but then Messi was fouled but didnt ask for a pen a bit later, and Lyon goal looked a bit like a foul, pushed on Lenglet so its levelled out. So conspiracy needed. I do agree Spanish teams have lots of advantage from ref calls in the last 10 years.

Well, even with the pen, Lyon was still very solid and looked like they would come back after 2 1 goal... Then Messi...

they always give that kind of penalties.
look at this one. 5pa1n vs Holland at the Worldcup.
Was much more unfair, but the same style:

C'mon Liverpool! I'd like to see an English club win this year. Beat Barca, anything's possible. You made Bayern look like an EPL mid-table team. That's promising!

I still think Valverde is preventing Barca from full potential with his strange decisions. If Malcom started instead of coutinho game would have been over in the first half with more chances created. Then bringing in dembele for Suarez in the second half and having Messi as "false" nine Barca would become unstoppable, because of the pace of the wingers and the intelligence of Messi for creating as we saw tonight. I gotta give him credit for the defense improvement though. Hopefully we improve by every match we play.

The team has been very lucky on a lot of occasions..this reminds me of the 2012/2013 season. Hopefully, they don't suffer the same fate...
