Pep's obsession with midfield domination costed us the match. We should have played 433 instead of 4231 :(

tbh I don't even feel sorry for Kane's injury, the man deserved it for going in trying to break Delph's legs. Terrible match, I don't think we deserved to lose but it never felt like a game we were gonna win with all the missed chances and THE missed chance being the penalty. I'm hopeful that we'll do much better at home, not just in the second leg but also the PL game just two days after. CTID.

How would it be bottling when going to the best team in England’s home?? If they lose 2-0 or 3-1, that’s jus City playing at the Etihad.

Aguero changed the whole game by missing that penalty, he and city will regret it

Yes 12 minutes in, it would have changed the game, forced Tottenham to attack way more to get something out of the game and cancel the away goal. Should be a cracking return game though. If Tottenham can nab an away goal, City will have to throw the sink at them. Awesome for the neutrals for sure.

Honestly I think City will trash Tottenham in the 2nd Leg.

Dont u just love the UCL magical nights. When it comes to UCL, the atmosphere brings out something special from Team's performance. It can never ever be equated with league performance. Mancity defeated spurs comfortable in EPL in their last 4 meetings but cant do it in UCL. I remember '04/05 season when Chelsea did the same to liverpool both in EPL and EFL and even whoop them 4-0 a week to their UCL match but cant repeat the same in UCL...

Starting Mahrez over Sane was a huge error from Pep... also surprised that De Bruyne didn't start.

What about Delph with so few recent matches? Did Pep think it would go well because Delph started against Schalke?

Ederson is city best player this match, i hope he's OK from the fall he took early on the second half. Poor performance from Delph, he has poor reaction, took a long time to receive the ball and making a decision. In Guardiola style of play, city suppose to attack from the left side and using left back to go forward up the field and right back staying at the back and act as a third centre back. The left back suppose to help with the set piece. He's done none of that (i mean he's trying to shoot from a long distance that goes so wide, that it look like a cross and David Silva try to channel it in, but failed because it goes so fast). The only contribution he made was unintentionally injuring Harry Kane and that doesn't matter if the scoreline ended up like this. Congrats to Spurs, Son MOTM.

impressive by spurs. But away will be very hard if Kane is injured.

@Benchod, you should look up the offside rule better: offside is either being in your own half or if "any part of the head, body or feet is nearer to the opponents' goal line than both the ball and the second-last opponent." So arms, elbows, knees, hands do not count for measuring offside position. VAR took a while to look at this goal both for the potential offside and for whether the ball went out of play, and eventually OKed it. Just let it go. It's not like if it kills the tie by any means anyway.
