The problem with this barça is (not winning UCL) is extreme lack of energy and intensity in midfield. Players like rakitic busquets coutinho arthur roberto. They are totally not physical and valverde doesnt seem to demand them to work on their physicality.
In my opinion that is the reason they choke in high intensity stages in UCL against high pressing teams. I know its too early to say this but this season seems to be the same with previous two seasons

The only one with some energy is just vidal and we keep him out of the 1st team.

Messi will help Antoine Griezmann just like how Ronaldinho helped Messi.

The number of dislikes you received is completely ridiculous. You're totally right. Messi has been influential on Neymar, Roberto, Malcom, Sanchez up to now, changing the way they see the game. No reason not to expect the same with Grizu.

I think people are disliking this (besides Lambo being a... polarizing person here) because of equating Griezmann with Messi

I see what you mean Fussas, thanks. Disliking the person should be different from disliking a comment though. After all, the analogy is clearly in the "helping". I'd be just as doubtful of equating Ronaldinho with Messi by the way!

For barça fans.
Griezman was meh. Looked like anything but a world class player
Sergi roberto was awesome in midfield
De jong was alright. Doing what a CM is supposed to do
Puig, he was very energetic and engaged in the game, had couple of mistakes but had a great game
Dembele, meh again. Poor in linking up with others. Worrying knowing its his 3rd season
Aleña, was ok, 7/10. more games gonna make him a quality player.
Rafinha, it was great to see him play, failed at least 3 take ons, didnt create a chance. 6/10
Wague, nothing much. 6/10
Suarez, great eye on goal. As usual not so successful in open play but had great runs and he was pivotal on both goals
Busquest, truely needs to stay away from line up. His main asset was his errorless play but now he seems prone to error.

Seriously man, dembele is really worrying at this point. Just seems he's not reaching his true potential. As for busquets I don't understand his lack of athleticism. They pace that he declined and slowed down was very shocking.

Dude, lets just forget about dembele, he seems like he totally accepted failure in barça shirt.
Yes, busquets shockingly declined. He has always been a slow and weak and relax but at least he was errorless. Now you can add 'prone to error next to defense line' to his list of weakness. We should either use de jong or vidal as our main CM/CDM and busquets as back up

I agree, but I think players like Alena, ruiqi, and rafinha are actually pretty energetic but the problem is valverde who doesn't I know how to set up a balanced midfield. I really think Barca have a lot quality young talents and need a coach who knows how to develop and get the best of them. Valverde is the limiting factor with his lack of demand and energy as you mentioned.

Exactly man. If only they fire valverde and hire someone like betis or ajax's coach who trusts young talents.

Sacking Valverde will solve so many problems. I have faith all those talented players will come good after leaves

It's good that this game tought us well.. We were looking good and even though they dominated 2nd half we looked solid... But seriously we've had such lame right backs... Grandpa Lichtsteiner, Niles Bellerin... I almost miss Gibbs... this is bullshit... Can we get a solid right back? Seriously I think it's more important than CB even, despite the crisis in that position... lol he was so scared from that nonintimdating press he actually looked down and concentrated on the ball and like "yeah i'm gonna put the exact right weight on this pass man this is gonna be a sweet pass... whoops" instead of keepin his fuckin head up like a professional player... that's kid league right there

Harmless error, he is actually one of our most composed players.

I think it indicates something... For me a player who dosen't keep his head up in those situations is a special kind of fool... But my point was more that our best RB is Bellerin who is very highly rated but actually a total shit player... And the other RB's are... Either before their prime or well after. We need a good RB and CB and pray Kolasinac and Monreal will manage to survive the season rather than another LB like everyone is saying

Chambers and Maitland-Niles were the weakest link in our defense. Attacking wise, I think we will score many goals next season
