Interesting hearing of Luka Modric that didn't give away much, according to the "internet" he was saying that whatever the accused of corrupton Mamic gave him to sign he was signing.
It says in Croatian: I have selective amnesia, I choose what I'm not going to remember.
"Luka we have one good and one bad news, good is that your sallary has come, bad is that you need to come with us to the ATM machine"
The person in question is called Mamic he was both a director of the Croatian football association and Dinamo Zagreb a football club in Croatia, he is on trial of making shady deals, he has been the agent of probably every single Croatian player you have ever heard of and he held many cards in his pockets.
Luka Modric chose not to say alot in his testimony which made his own countrymen dislike him calling him out as a little turd.
Zdravko Mamic the accused person in question fired his own representatives in the middle of the hearing.
As a reminder Luka Modric is the captain of the Croatian football team, his accolades and fame didn't help him as people didn't like that he chose for some reason not to throw Mamic under the bus as most want the football manager Mamic convicted.
Another player, Lovren from Liverpool is said to be the next player that will give some evidence of tax evasion or some unlawfull conduct that Mamic has done;

PS. Made a mistake in the title and can't repair it now sorry for that.
Edited title for you. But yeah, I respect Modric for keeping his mouth shut about matters and staying out of controversy to the best of his abilities, but how are Barcelona and Real Madrid players all getting caught up in tax evasion LMAO. Neymar, Alonso, Messi, Ronaldo, Mascherano, and now Modric haha.
Poor Modric, he never been the most vocal guys so of course he wasn't going to make an huge show of this. Hope this whole story get resolved quickly and that people forget about this. Modric is one of my fav Real Madrid player and I would hate for him to lose the support of Croatia especialy before the start of the next WC. :(
Why is he defending a guy who ripped him off?
@JuanMata He isn't, he just want to stay away from it all. Hopefully though, he really doesn't have an ulterior motive for making such a short testimory.
Modric maybe lied, maybe not. Still interesting that he is seen as a bad guy, almost as the person being prosecuted, the Balkans have a particular way of turning against eachother, even when it's about one of the best players to have come out of that region.
I doubt that, Emo, he's probably scared of the Croatian mafia. Slavs are crazy, man.
@JuanMata, I am against defending Mamic in any way. He's responsible for not making Croatia's football one of best in Europe right now (along with Suker and whole Croatian FA).
But if there is anyone who made Modric player he is today, it is Mamic. There is reason he kept his mouth shut. He was a war refugee and started playing football during the war. He was rejected by Hajduk Split (one of three best clubs in Croatia - historically and rn) because he was 'short and light-weight'. Mamic scouted him and brought him in Dinamo at age of 16. He was loaned to Zrinjski (Bosnian club - won title this year) and was awarded best player in the league at time - he was only 18. Loan to Inter Zaprešić (my local club btw) was also successful, and they were second in league with Modric as their key player. He then signed 10-year contract with Dinamo and Mamic's trust proved good. If there was no Mamic he wouldn't be called best midfielder in the world by many. He was scouted by Barcelona and Arsenal, but Mamic played huge role in sending him to Tottenham which was in need of dynamic all-rounder in midfield.
I think Modric absolutely has all the rights to not talk about this.
@Croatian Thanks mate, its explain a lot. ;)
Didn't realize you already wrote about this topic :o, deleted mine already, sorry mate.
Didn't see this post, deleted mine already, sorry mate.
No problem you didn't need to delete it I just thought you could check it out.
@Golazo11 Nah it's fine since it would be redundant to have two articles with similar information. Yours is better anyways XD
@alferroa Ok mate cheers :)
Uhmnnn, didnt see this coming. But I guess almost all of the big star has some flaw with their incomes, with that much of money and second to none background in anything else other than football. I wouldnt be surprise if these guys have their agents screwed up.
Luka Modric faces investigation, could lead to prison in case he is found guilty for false testifying in favor of Mamic.
@Golazo Damn, would be a tragedy if it did happen, however, it could make it possible for James to stay at Real after all. Ok, I feel terrible for saying that now. :( Even more so that Modric is one of my all time fav. :(
