Fabregas can only go somewhere if Arsenal (I mean: Wenger) decides not to buy him. They have a first-refusal stipulation in the contract they signed when they sold him, and unless Wenger releases him from that, Barcelona cannot legally sell him to anyone else.

Smart move by Wenger.

Fabregas has already signed for Chelsea. It's been confirmed by the Daily Mail.

Here he is promoting the Chelsea kit at a photo shoot in London earlier this morning. It's a DM exclusive.

thing is, this is the worst time for us to see fabregas come back. I would love to see him again at arsenal, I really really would. But we just bought ozil, ramsey just turned into our most important attacking player, with wilshere coming along nicely as well, we do not lack attacking midfielders. It would be a waste to play fabregas as our anchor man/DM. So bringing him back would mean taking playing time away from one of the three fabregas/ramsey/ozil. That would make things extremely difficult for wilshere to break back into the team. And wilshere is still amazingly talented and our golden boy, no matter what people believe. Moreover we need to strenghten other positions, DM, Striker, RB, and GK.

But anything rather than seeing him at chelsea, manutd or liverpool. He would be amazing depth for the team. Almost too much depth.

This is the perfect time to bring Fabregas home. Look at the bigger picture. Arsenal = Inevitable midfield injuries. We lost our most influential player in Ramsey for three months. Who knows where would've finished in the table had he been fit. I can tell you now it would of been higher than fourth. The next season will be Rosicky's last and hopefully Arteta leaves during this transfer window but he will probably go in the next as well. Having too much depth in the midfield area is not always a bad thing. Especially if you're going add a player of Cesc Fabregas' caliber within the mix. We cannot afford to lose out on him. He's just that good. If we let him go to the likes of Chelsea or City then we can forget about the title next year. Fabregas is never going to join Chelsea anyway. Mourinho called his "father figure" a specialist in failure. I know I'd do anything but work with him.

The return of Fabregas could be the making of this team. I didn't like the way Cesc left the club because he never gave Wenger a chance. He was always going to leave for Barcelona. Van Persie gets harshly criticized and hate from Arsenal fans for leaving which I think he doesn't deserve. Yeah he may have gone off to join United of all teams but at least RVP pleaded with Wenger to bring in some quality signings before leaving. Cesc just left. Hopefully he'll able to give back to the Arsenal fans if we do sign him, again. His time at the club was full of potential, now is the perfect time to bring him back and see him fulfill that potential.

Just squeeze Cesc in the middle. No problem.

@gunnerafc I agree that Fabregas would definitely improve the team. My major doubt is that Wenger might prioritise other positions where the squad could be improved more efficiently. If we do improve in the striker and DM positions, of course we go for fabregas. But if I had to chose between fabregas, striker and DM it really is not as evident. Ozil was already a luxury signing last season according to some people, Fabregas would 100% be a luxury signing.

  • I agree with you there pal. We have the money to buy the lot but we urgently need a good striker to support Giroud and a couple of defensive minded signings.

OUPS PIQUE !! So that might be it, only thing left to know now is where he's going. Honestly I'm preparing for the worst. If he goes to Chelsea I don't know how I would react. To keep my mental health I'll just convince myself there is no way he's not coming home.

Arsenal have informed Barcelona they will not be exercising a buy-back option on former player Cesc Fabregas.

WHY!
