Manchester United score goals. Simple really! Vandersar and the defence were amazing as usual which helps. Our team is built on a strong defence. And Rooney was brilliant.

@Kevin, did u realize tat ur words were kind of bullshlt. Lame prediction n lame excuses, all ur comment just repeated the same points. Lame to d MAX!!! . When RVP score in d 1st leg, u guys said RVP was great and not blame on Valdes, while Man.U scored against ur team, u guys blame all to Almunia. Im pity wif him, u din realize Almunia safe ur team being humiliate by Barca in 2nd leg. . And I thought ur super.duper.mighty Arsenal savior RVP will score bcoz he play all 98mins in tis game, lame man. Get a life, dude.

good game for us, Chitcharito could have scored if it wasn't for Almunia saves... Van Der Sar was brilliant, I don't know who can replace him when he retires. I think it is unfair to blame the lost on Almunia, Arsenal lost because they couldn't deal with rebounds fast enough. both goals were rebounds, Almunia done his best to hit them out, but the def was just too slow to react. When you see Van Der Sar has a rebound, our def were the first one to be there to clear, this explain why we were the better side on the scoreline.

Don't get carried away for the victory and it happened that Arsenal played one of their worst matches and the defence & midfield re far from satisfaction. u have to hope that VDS is able to perform consistenly in the ensuing matches with the extremely tight schdeules (UCL, EPL & FAC). As for the Gunners we ve to live with ALMUNIA for the next 10 matches and the defence & midfield have to buck up. EPL trophy is still much intact and it will go either way - MU or Arsenal.

This match was a battle between the best BOSSES in the world (Ferguson and Wenger).

A battle between the best BOSSES in the world (Ferguson and Wenger) is unfortunately to have missed BECOS there was a MIS-MATCH in GOALKEEPER. VDS is One of the BEST Goodkeeper in the WORLD whereas ALMUNIA is the 3rd choice goalkeeper with the Gunners behind Szy & Fabianski. VDS saved goals of CERTAINTY from the Gunners whereas ALMUNIA the philanthropist GIFTED the Red Devils two goals.

So you think just having Almunia in the match would automatically cost Arsenal a loss? Some fan you are. Don't blame Almunia for your team's loss, blame your whole team.

kevin 13 years ago
Come on! MU ve VDS & Chelsea ve Cech & Liverpool Reina ARSENAL have no choice but to live with Almunia. He was No 1 for many years and drop to No 3 this season and his performance in that much was a concret evidence. Answer me that if VDS/Cech/Reina could not keep the tame header by Hernandez. Even so how could that be in pushing the ball to right in front of his goal mouth and tell me who can score that goal. It was not better for the 2ng goal. He could use hand, head, legs and any part of his body but just couldn't get Rooney's header out. I don't blame the whole team. I have said so much that who re the players that Wenger either wrongly chose and had no other choice and I wouldn't wish to repeat.

So let's get this straight, last week it came down to one man, the ref, this week it's down to one man, Van Der Sar, the sad FACT from Arsenal's point of view is if you can't dominate a game against a CM pairing of O'Shea and Gibson, you don't really deserve to win anything, do you ? ... A keeper is only as good as the 10 men in front of him .. And Arsenal are coming up short at the business end of the season !

Beating Arsenal doesn't give u the FA cup and u will play MC next ans yr sucked away record will kill u. FAC is of low priority and SAF could afford to lose it and he parked the bus for a DRAW. Thank God VDS was marvelous and u can stay a little longer in the cup. Thank ALMUNIA the philanthropist GIFTED the Red Devils two goals and I hope that Wenger can get an on-loan gk quickly and put Almunia in the injury list. If Almunia were to be with us for the next 10 matches I am not that optimistic about yr chance and I would say a 50-50 MU & Arsenal either way for the EPL title. Friend u had no CMs u had the bus and bus keeper VDS saved u the day.

Kevin, you're an arse !, give it a rest ! ... FYI, the semi finals of the cup will be at Wembley and I don't think that counts when considering our "suck" (in your marvellous English) away record ... It's our second frigging home ! ... You're a bitter, bitter gooner with more excuses than Wenger himself !
0
kevin 13 years ago
Fine, at Wembley so it is 50-50 and 60-40 since u proclaimed that it is MU's 2nd home where MU won the only trophy Carling Cup last season. Let's be optimistic that MU will get thru again with 7 defenders they will have the tough Bolton or rugby team Stoke waiting at the same Wembley stadium for a European League berth. If Birmingham can win at Wembley Stoke/Bolton can also do it.

"....Kevin, you’re an arse !, give it a rest ! …You’re a bitter, bitter gooner with more excuses than Wenger himself !...." u must have thought that u made no noise when yr MU suffered two defeats in a row! The most critcal matches for MU will be against Marseille tonight for UCL honour and Bolton on Saturday night for the EPL SAF desires to win.

"u must have thought that u made no noise when yr MU suffered two defeats in a row!" You'll have to explain this one to me, are you implying that I wasn't on here b!tching when United lost ?, would you rather the following ?: THE REF was to blame for Chelsea beating United as David Luis should never have been on the pitch to score the equaliser and the second goal was the softest penalty ever ?!?! or maybe THE REF was to blame for us losing to Liverpool as he allowed Carragher to stay on the pitch after that horror tackle on Nani, not only denying us 10-11 scenario but also removing our most influential player ???!! Or maybe regarding United ONLY winning the Carling Cup last season, should I be complaining that in both Premiser league games against Chelsea we were robbed by THE REF, i.e. it was never a free kick in the first game and Drogba was miles offside for his goal in the second leg ???, thereby the REF caused us to lose the Premiership by 1 point !! Well, sorry Kevin, some of us don't "make noise" when we lose, it's called integrity and honour, accepting the rough with the smooth, moaning like a little child when results don't go your way, blaming REFs, PARKED BUSES, YOUR MANAGER, YOUR KEEPER, etc etc is just embarrassing. And judging by the amount of thumbs down you receive on this site, I would imagine a lot of people feel the same way, grow some balls !

kevin 13 years ago
Good that I hear yr noise here and it is ok that I shall drop the issue and the true fact is that MU beat Arsenal 2-0 11 vs 11. EPL is still much the contest btw the two horses and we shall see how the two teams come back from bitter defeats - WBA vs Arsenal & MU vs Bolton - will have that impact on EPL title race.

MU will keep this 7-3-1 formation? Their next opponent is Marseille and a DRAW with score will kick MU out of UCL. A 0-0 DRAW will see them in Penalty shootout banking on their respective luck. On Saturday, MU will pick up Bolton and it is certainly not the time to playing them and Bolton re VERY VERY GOOD and they have just beaten Birmingham 3-2 away in an FAC q-final.
-3
Jackson 13 years ago
Yeah, thanks for filling us in on what everybody knows already Kevin, you seem to be good at that ! ... So what if we play the same formation ?, SAF can only pick a team that's fit, with a bit of luck Valencia will be back for us but I thought the Da Silvas did a great job on the wings so I'm not that bothered ... And as for Bolton, you seem to forget, oh font of all knowledge, they are Arsenal's bogey side, not Uniteds ... So stop bloody dreaming !
1
kevin 13 years ago
Don't get carried away. The 7-3-1 was what Fergie could conjured up it would otherwise get smashed into pieces if VDS was not in such a marvelous form. I don't know Whether or not Da Silvas did a good job but I know that it was a poor display by the defence and the DM Denilson was in non-existence. In FACT, it was the goalkeeper BARCA rated WORLD CLASS MR ALMUNIA gifted MU the two goals. I am a reasonable guy and I won't behavs like most of the MU fan and I WOULDN'T WRITE about "MU Parking a bus at OT" though it was a concrete FACT. Fergie had every right to play negative football. Please save yourself with INTEGRITY otherwise MU would lose that in a negative football tactics. As for Bolton, true enough, both MU & Arsenal will have to face them and Gunners' is an away match. But before Arsenal can think about it it is MU to take that challenge three days after the Marseille match. Good luck to MU!

This match leave us with thought that what is badly needed if we re to win a trophy. 1. We need a WORLD CLASS goalkeeper and we will sign VDS next season since he will retire from MU end of this season. 2. We need quality CBs. TV will come back next season and Koscienly will be better next season but we need 2 more quality CBs, 3. We need DM. We should trade Denilson with a quality CM to ease Alex Song's load and we won't pay a lot since we can get some back by kicking Denilson out. 4. We need ACM. We should trade Diaby & Rosicky for 1 ACM and may not even have to spend by booting out Diaby & Rosicky. 5. Song, Wilsher, AA, RVP & Nasri will be getting strong with quality CM & DM to support them. 6. Chamakh & Ramsey will be given more matches to play and greater role to display their talents. They will be much better next season. 7. Bendtner? He is on 'nice to have' and if a deal is good he can go too.

We have 10 matches to play to winning the most COVET English competition EPL but we ve to live with the only Goalkeeper - ALMUNIA. His performance was just disappointed and his SAVE was so UNTIDY. Our main worry is that - Can we win the EPL with this goalkeeper - ALMUNIA. I wiah I have VDS retires from MU and join Arsenal. Look at his saves: 1. pushed away RVP's shot from that acute angle; 2. stopped Koscienly's1st shot with his leg and parried away Koscienly's follow up shot. 3. stopped Chamakh's header. ALMUNIA? could not hold on to a simple header and worst still pushed it into the path for a simple tap in. Denilson the only DM left were no where in MU match and what will Wenger do to remedy it? Hopefully Song can recover fast to take back the role. Diaby the atm we have in the absence of Fabregas was just as bad as Denilson when he was badly needed to deliver the good for the Gunners. Hopefully Fabregas can recover early to take charge of the midfield. For the time being Wenger's priority is to quickly take remedy to the shortcomings. GUNNERS, u still have the HOPE and EPL trophy is much intact as at today.

VDS was playing with full confidence. It was so obvious, he was so calm and collected. Almunia is still a good GK, look at Man Utd before VDS came. They were all worst than Almunia

Summary: 1. Wenger went for 4-3-3 attacking option which was so predictable and they lost to MU's 4-5-1 in Dec 13 EPL game at OT. SAF wanted to keep Carrick & Fletcher for Marseille match so he opted for 7 defenders tactics 7-3-1. Wenger & his men were caught in that change and could not react to it. 2. Playing 7 defenders basically ask for a DRAW and SAF wanted to buy time as Marseille game is what they must win as UCL is their main goal. 3. Beating 4-5-1 at OT is already hard and beating MU with 7 defenders at OT is even harder and u need good strike force & creative attacking midfielders to do the job. 4. Wenger & Arsenal did have the good striker force even in he absence of Walcott AA-RVP-Nasri combination was good and they tried very hard but was foiled by the 7-men MU defence and when they managed to break thru they were denied by WORLD CLASS VDS. 5. VDS is WORLD CLASS. ALMUNIA happended to be the weakiest of the three Arsenal gk and enough to say. Almunia was poor if it was VDS the two goals would never come. The 1st goal conceded was really uncalled for and ALMUNIA was just as POOR. 6. Attacking football without influential captain Fabregas the lack of creativity in the attacking midfielder was felt. Wilshere(supposely a DM) -Denilson-Diaby was a total flop in Wenger's attacking plan. 7. Wilshere took over Fabregas role and Denilson became the DM when attacking option was chosen change a well-balanced plan and the defence could not get the cover necessary from the DMs. 8. Defence was very poor in this match and the defenders were caught so often in MU's quick counter attack. Not sure why Clichy was not field and Gibbs was certainly not the one o be entrusted in this crucial match. 9. Btw, poor defence too had the contributory of Wenger's insufficiency in his plan and defenders were too often lured to leave their position to join the attack. Don't blame Koscienly he ran up & down and he got two shots saved by VDS's WORLD CLASS display. Winning this match doesn't give MU the FA cup and they still have MC, Bolton & Stoke in the way. Winning mean more fixtures to trouble their already tight EPL & UCL schedules. Losing in this FA cup q-finals doesn't sound the end of Arsenal's EPL trophy hope. They re now in ONLY ONE COMPETITION - EPL and if they beat WBA this Saturday they will be ON PAR with MU and with only 10 matches left in the covert EPL (compare to FAC) competition they should endeavor to winning it with that advantages they now enjoy.

OT this season got the best record MU have never enjoyed for many years - UNBEATEN for the entire season till today. Beating MU at OT is quite impossible and the match came after Arsenal lost the CC & lost the UCL battle at Nou Camp together with injury to some key players I actually suggested the a well-balance attack-defence tactics to hold MU to a DRAW in the "PREVIEW" thread. Arsenal 2 cup vs MU 3 cups Arsenal have the TIME advantages and a DRAW will bring the match (REPLAY) to Emirates. Arsenal have a better chance to see of MU at Emirates. Sad that Wenger was still a rung lower than SAF and he and his team LOST. BUT the loss is the least COVET FA cup EPL title hope is still much intact. MU's continued FA Cup route will see them visiting MC at City's ground on 16/17 Apr and the EPL match against Newcastle away will be postponed and it should impact MU's EPL title challenge to an extent. WENGER is right that it is not the end of Arsenal and if they can bounce back they can still upstage MU for EPL trophy at the end of the season. WORK HARD for EPL trophy GUNNERS! One CHEER for u!

realityTeller 13 years ago
this seems to always be the way when we play arsenal, we don't always dominate, but we always win. If Man U is lucky every time they win, then they are lucky around 95% of the time. And arsenal according to their fans, are the best team in the world (not true), and play the best football (Barca), yet they fail to win anything. Wouldn't the best team in the world win something from time to time? I think the commentator said it best yesterday. "Manchester United wanted it more" the arsenal players were too worried about having a perfect pass while united players were worried about winning, that's the difference. Pool fans: congrats on your win against us last week, but you are in no position to talk Chelsea fans: You should worry more about your future Europa League competition then Manchester United in the FA Cup. If we are lucky every time, then so be it, But we WIN, AND THAT IS THE DIFFERENCE
