Match facts

Manchester City

  • Manchester City have won their last two Premier League meetings with Chelsea, while they haven't won three in succession against the Blues since the 2010/11 season.
  • Pep Guardiola could become just the second Manchester City manager in the Premier League era to win his first meeting with Chelsea, following Roberto Mancini in 2009/10 (the Italian is the only one among Man City's previous 10 managers in the competition to have done so).
  • City have kept just two clean sheets in their 13 Premier League games under Pep Guardiola; only three sides have kept fewer shutouts so far this term.
  • Premier League players wearing the number 10 shirt have been responsible for the most goals this season (58); with Sergio Aguero (10 goals) and Eden Hazard (7) contributing 29% of that total.
  • Sergio Aguero has scored four times in his last two Premier League games against Chelsea, including a hat-trick in his last league meeting against the Blues.

Chelsea

  • Chelsea have collected just two points from their last four league games against City (D2 L2), which is their current longest winless streak against them in the competition's history (four games).
  • Chelsea have won 11 games away at Manchester City in the Premier League; their most against a team away from home in the competition's history.
  • Antonio Conte is the first Chelsea manager to win seven consecutive Premier League games within a single season since Jose Mourinho (nine wins in 2006/07).
  • Chelsea are the only Premier League side yet to score or concede a headed goal this season.
  • Diego Costa has the best minutes per goal ratio of any Chelsea player in Premier League history (min. 10 scored), averaging one every 134 minutes.
  • Costa has only failed to score or assist a goal in two of his 13 Premier League appearances this season – versus Man Utd at home and Arsenal away. He has been involved in a goal in each of his other 11 PL apps in 2016-17.

Predictions

Antonio Conte's league leaders go into the match on the back of seven consecutive lead wins, while City are unbeaten in six Premier League games.

This is a hard match to predict, but many will expect Chelsea to pip City in a tight encounter at the Etihad.

This is one of the biggest tests for both teams this year, other than Liverpool, 4rsenal; Mancity and chelsea are pretty clearly the title contenders

sure this will be tactical match , guardiola always use 3 defender at back so he must know its weakness, but sure conte see that one coming and prepare to defend and attack at the right time , the team that score first will win 1-0 for me

tactical match were always ended up with 0-0 both team play very carefully (not park the bus) but when someone scored sure they play defensively (also not park the bus) , this always happens in important matches like World cup matches.

Well, Man City has the better team on paper. No doubts about that. Should be a fun one to watch for neutrals....I as a Chelsea fan am sure I'll be going through emotions. Hopefully the last emotion will be joy and satisfaction.

May the best team win. (Heck with draws).

The match up I am most scared of as a Chelsea fan is Sterling vs. Alonso. I feel Sterling can and should win that battle 8 out of 10 times.

I will never feel safe with David Luiz in defence. Hopefully Aguero doesn't make a mincemeat out of him on Saturday. Same goes for Gary Cahil

Really? Luiz has been top class since he came back. There's a reason to why he's in our starting XI and why he suits the 3 back line so well. Cahill has been great too since he fucked up a few games in September.

David luiz only play bad and get cocky when he was captainng the match like psg vs barca and Brazil vs Germany, he always rush front and leave cb behind lol , but now even he make mistake there is Azpilicueta and Cahill to cover him

Man City beat us 3-0 at the Etihad last season and beat 3-0 at Stamford Bridge. A draw there on Saturday would be sufficient. A win would be out of this world because not many teams enjoy a victory against a Guardiola no matter how good they are. Obviously they have had calamities in defence in several games this season.. But as we saw against Tottenham who were coming to Stamford Bridge on the back of a horrific defensive display at Monaco, past weakmesses matters not in these kind of gsmes. It's all about the DAY-FORM. They might get their act together and defend better than us on Saturday. You never know

I think Chelsea could be brought back down to earth with this match...they will put up a decent fight...but it won't be enough...even to salvage a point would be brilliant here

Chelsea are scary atm. I was thinking that it would be good if we draw. You got better forwards as well as better defence, so if this is not the best game we have played so far in the league, I think we will lose.
