I'll say (ask) this question one more time - When will that day finally come? The day when Napoli will play on a new stadium, and we'll see it full with 50, 60K of true football aficionados. However, even with this poor stadium conditions, this attendance is disgraceful! Napolitains say that their city loves football like no other in the world! And yet, they can get more than 30K ppl to a match of their favorite team?! I mean, if I was from Naples, and love Napoli, I'd be there every 2nd week,on San Paolo, no matter how bad it is! A true football fan stands behind its club all the time. And Napoli plays great football, and they deserve the respect and audience on the stadium! Because this is pathetic!
I'm a Milan fan, but I love Napoli and it hurts my heart to see a half-empty stadium!

Serie A isn't what it used to be.

I agree with both of your statements. It also partly has to do with the Italian economy. People can't afford tickets. Juve sells out but they arnt all the same fans each game. Even San Siro is difficult to sell out, AS Roma, SSC Napoli, Fiorentina and pretty much everyone else is at that level. Right now the money is simply not in Serie A like it used to be.

There's no money to build a new stadium, and even if there was the club would have to go through the nightmare of Italian bureaucracy to get a permit. Just look at how long it is taking for Roma to start building their stadium...plans were done several years ago. Your Milan also had plans done but then had to cancel.
As for the attendance, you're absolutely right. Sure, many don't have money to go to the stadium but I don't think that's the full picture...The people of Naples were even poorer in the 80's and still 100.000 people crammed into the San Paolo to watch the team.

Of course the attendance is a problem not only for Napoli but for all Italian clubs, Juventus being the only exception. I don't think it has anything to do with the football not being as good as it used to be, I think there are three main reasons:

1. Stadiums are run down and old. Making it less enjoyable to watch the game there.
2. People are fed up with how badly the league is being run. Just look at all the rules and regulations surrounding things like Tessera del Tifoso. Things like this all means less tickets sold.
3. People don't like how their club is being run and so don't want to support the club owners. This is extremely noticable in Lazio and Milan, also to some degree in Roma.

Correct but in the 80's like you stated, they had the lira, now its the euro as currency and there isn't enough of it to be spent on an evening in the stadiums.
TV money is huge, and if you think about wherever you may be, they most likely play BPL games with the exception of Real and Barca on the main channels just based on the fact thats its in English so there is more in common compared to Serie A, Ligue 1, etc. They show maybe juve games, what about the other 19 teams on a weekly basis.
