It would not be unfair to say that the first few months of the season have been disappointing for Zinedine Zidane’s side, who already find themselves playing catch-up in the Primera Division following a defeat to Real Betis and draws against Valencia and Levante.
And it must be point out that all three of those disappointing results came at the Santiago Bernabeu so Tottenham know they are not walking into a fortress where it is impossible to come away with a point or three.
However, we do not expect that to happen. Despite that shaky patch no team had had more shots on goal than Real in the Spanish top flight, so they were still creating chances, and of course there is always going to be some sort of drop off when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema are missing due to injury.
That pair were in action at the weekend though, both scoring as Real Madrid snatched a 2-1 win at Getafe, and we believe we are going to see similar scenes here with Real’s ropey defence conceding once again while their star attacking players deliver the winning goals at the other end of the pitch.
