These games are nothing but for the teams to gain new fans in different countries. It's all about that money.
Don't fall for the "Oh, it's because we need to get our fitness back" excuse. They can easily do that in training at home lol

I really hope Mahrez gets enough minutes to play to prove himself . Under Pep, he'll be twice as good.

What's the point of these preseason games? No one is really trying, no energy from the players, the game is boring and more than half the players playing will remain youth players and won't play in the first team. Or they will be loaned out. The first team players look like they don't give two shits. Preseasons is basically a training drill. Watched two so far and they were both lame. Just like last year and the year before. Don't know what I was expecting. Just wanted some football in my life with the world cup gone.

Would you enter a body building contest with a skinny body? No, you train for it. Same with these clubs, they need to get back into fitness in order to be ready for their respective leagues. Preseason isn't supposed to be competitive, that's why it's called PRE-SEASON.

Why would you compare skinny body in body building with fitness in football, it just doesnt make sense.

@R7, it's not a comparison, it's an example. Point is, you have to prepare for the big stage. That's what a preseason is for.

@ArsenalClub, Connecting with fans from all over the globe is part of it, but training and playing an actual football match are completely different things.

They hit two birds with one stone. Yes they branch out with other markets and gain new fans, but pre-season is a key part of any sport. It's a great way for a manager to evaluate players, schemes, tactics, and so on.

You can't expect full intensity and all that, but, hey, if it's football, I'll watch it.
