Hmmm... I watched two times more and I would never use a word "poleaxed". He hit the ball and his thighs touched Chiesa. Italian reaction was exaggerated, but it's normal nowadays. For me, it's simply referees mistake.

Guys, I preferred the old format of friendlies. At least with friendlies there was no chance of being relegated ha ha.

What did you expect form a german referee :D And why there is no VAR in 21 century international games is beyond me...

He did get the ball but that was after going right thru Chiesa, who was basically poleaxed in the process.

He goes right through Chiesa to get the ball. As the commentator rightly says, a rash challenge. Anyway. That isn't why Poland didn't win. Poland had a couple of other opportunities but didn't take their chances. Poland only ever beaten Italy once in a competitive match and that was 44 years ago. So they should be happy with a point as they usually lose competitive matches vs us. They had a massive opportunity that in my opinion, that is easily the worst Italy starting 11 in the history of our national team. But they still couldn't win. They'll have another chance in October. We'll still be crap by then.

I was talking only about this incident, not about winning or losing. As you said, let's see next game. Thx for your comments

I understand. But the penalty led to Italy getting a point. My point was that ultimately, Poland would've still won had they taken their chances.

Boring, slow, miss passes, lack of enthusiasm from Italy players, except DONARRUMA N CHIESA a bright player. Balo should give his 100% effort , he should know that after years, he got the chance to play for the nation. Poland had the fluidity .
